I will say one area I think Barnes has to adapt is with free transfers, NIL, & the one & dones he’s now recruiting he absolutely can’t have guys sitting that want to play.

BJ Edwards not being able to step in and help handle the ball when ZZ fouls out is on the staff. We’ve had plenty of opportunities in blowout games where he could have gotten more minutes. Just no reason not to try and get him more game time experience early in the season.

Just never know who you may need if guys get injured.

Yeah, he will look back on the season and rue not doing more to bring Edwards along, I’m afraid.

My old rule for Tennessee basketball was that I was happy as long as we beat Kentucky once. Bonus points if we beat them in Lexington.

Dial back. Put UK in the NIT. Go from there lol.

I don't understand why fans do this. Most of the fail was on our players and Mizzou playing a helluva game. The 2nd half was actually really well coached. Barnes needs to place more emphasis on offensive production but players were simply failing to execute tonight in a lot of ways.

Who is responsible for coaching, player substitution, timeouts, recruiting and play calling?

In another post I said it was players and Barnes. Barnes offensive scheme is sh**. Even when our shooters are on our defensive falls off and that’s what Barnes hangs his hat on.

How does Barnes not tell them to foul with the way they hit three point shots all game. It was set up yet again for a buzzer beater and it happened yet again. Who’s fault was the Vandy game?

He played so-so in the minutes he gave tonight. Was good to see him and he's definitely got talent. Was timid and had turnovers at times though.

Makes you wonder if he turns Dillione and Edwards loose. Tells the team to just go play ball against Bama then tighten down again for UK.

Agreed. They’ve lost two games in a row they would have won if they just played default mode basketball in the last 30 seconds. Yet they’ve made several boneheaded plays that were necessary to give the other team a chance.

Hey, at least we've gotten past that *knock on wood* and we can be better come tournament time.

It's ultimately Barnes' responsibility to win basketball games. The last two have been gut shots. He will bounce back. We will bounce back. They all understand that they have to be better.

All I know is the rest of you need to try to be as good a Vol as I am. Y'all are falling short. If you would make the necessary sacrifices, like I do, we would have won tonight.

Tennessee lost 3 out of the last 4 games, all to unranked teams, only win was a 3 point sloppy win against auburn who is also 1-4 in the last 5 games. Not to mention we are probably going to lose 3 out of our next 4 games as well. I think it is fair to question the future of barnes future here

It's fair to question how well he has coached the last few games. It's ridiculous to question his future here based upon a bad five game stretch.
