I just think practice isn’t the best measure of how a player is gonna play when it counts. So even if BJ hasn’t looked amazing, he’s still a top 100 PG on a team with just 1. The OOC schedule should be where you throw the young guys in the deep end and see who sinks or swims.

Lol...that's not me..I am thankful to have a consistently good program. I knew this years team had a couple of big flaws so this doesn't surprise me....I thought we would probably lose 6-9 games and I did not think we would win the SEC.

Injuries major and minor are also really taking a toll also and that is just what it is.

Losing these last two games like we have is brutal, but maybe it will pay dividends in a tough postseason game...the team is going to have to suck it up now and hope for decent seed.

Tennessee lost 3 out of the last 4 games, all to unranked teams, only win was a 3 point sloppy win against auburn who is also 1-4 in the last 5 games. Not to mention we are probably going to lose 3 out of our next 4 games as well. I think it is fair to question the future of barnes future here

Terrible reason to fire a coach. We lost to a talented Kentucky team that on any given night can beat anyone. We lost to a scrappy Florida team on their home court. Vandy played us hard the first time and I wasn't surprised we lost to them this time. Missouri may be the worst loss of these (by one point) but they're still a good team. We're on a downward slide after rising to #2 in the country. Happens in Basketball. The team is talented and very capable of turning things around from here. Either way, Barnes has been great for this school and I for one am riding this out with him as this is some of the winningest bball Tennessee has ever experienced across a pretty long run. My bet, Barnes steps down before we ask him to leave.

Who is responsible for coaching, player substitution, timeouts, recruiting and play calling?

In another post I said it was players and Barnes. Barnes offensive scheme is sh**. Even when our shooters are on our defensive falls off and that’s what Barnes hangs his hat on.

How does Barnes not tell them to foul with the way they hit three point shots all game. It was set up yet again for a buzzer beater and it happened yet again. Who’s fault was the Vandy game?

It's amazing how stupid some people are.

I'm convinced a fair number of the "fahr (insert coach's name)!" crowd don't even watch the games and teams they criticize. They never talk about the games, players, or the plays or point to anything concrete. They just show up to spout out the usual pablum and catch phrases and demand we string up the coach whenever any of our teams lose. It would be comical if it weren't so predictable.

My feelings on the basketball team/ Barnes hasn’t changed…… the only thing that matters is what you do in March….. Regular season losses only hurt your chances to do better in March….Hope we can get right and go on a run when it matters.

VOLS fans of all people should know better thank firing a good coach because of some bumps in the road.

The mistake we made with the football team was firing Fulmer. His offensive coordinator (who went on to become a great coach) was never really given a chance and we had two Heisman quarterbacks committed. Firing Fulmer was what caused Clemson to rise. We should have allowed him to retire with dignity and our program wouldn't have struggled all these years. (hopefully Hype has gotten us out of that ugly mess.)

Barnes has us playing in the NCAA --ranked higher then predicted in preseason --often in the top ten- winning SEC last year, etc. He deserves to retire here, and then as should have happened with football, hire a great coach to replace him.

There's a difference between basketball right now and where football was 2005-2008.

Basketball is as healthy as it's ever been right now.

Biggest upset in sports history????

Man, that upper cut totally won the fight. The other punches were just to get Tyson’s legs to realize that his brain wasn’t in charge anymore. He was going down but his legs weren’t until the other punches unbalanced him. Awesome
