I know myself and a few others are the only true college baseball fans on here… Most on here didn’t know we had a baseball team a couple of years ago….. These reactions are hilarious…. Keep them coming.
Baseball will wear you out quicker then bball with how many games they play
I’ll be surprised if we win today. Brand new team trying to figure itself out. People don’t understand that you’re happy if you only lose 14-18 games, that’s a good season. Last year regular season only happens every once in awhile

Part of the problem is everyone is so ingrained with gotta win from football that it’s carried over to other sports

Rick Barnes tournament record doesn’t help him though

Already received troll texts from fans of other teams. People that didn't say anything before UT was good, then only texted me when Tennessee lost, and would text me to tell me all about how Tennessee didn't win "the right way."

Gonna get old fast.

I said it a bunch last year, but those kids could have been choir boys, and rival fans would have found something else to complain about.

When fans (and this includes Vol fans, no mistake) are upset that someone else is “winning the wrong way,” what they’re really upset about is that they’re winning at all.

Peay’s final game at the Dunn Center ends in major scuffle……crappy way to end an era.

North Florida vs. Austin Peay - Men's College Basketball Game Summary - February 18, 2023 | ESPN

watch the highlights at the end…..
WE are getting hammered for that BS!!
My grandfather was a tailback for for Peay in the 60s. My dad has a masters degree from Peay and my sister has a bachelor's, working on master's while employed by Peay. All that to say, I usually support and back Peay.

I'm missing something if Peay shouldn't be hammered for this. It looks to me like the opponent is making a basketball play to defend a dunk at the end of the game down-1. And the APSU players assaulted (literally) him for it and started that scrum.

Usually we play mostly soft teams in the preseason…. It is the reason our previous coaches started out like 19-2 or something similar…. We will be fine and hopefully have our lineup/pitching figured out by the start of SEC baseball….

After this weekend the schedule is pretty soft until SEC play. Morehead St is OK but thats about it.

With that budget in that state, Georgia should be #1 EVERY year. Especially after going back to back. We gotta step our game up. How do the muttards have more than 1.5 million than everyone else? Is this how they've been paying recruits all these years under everyone's noses. It's too obvious for it to be true according to the NCAA I suppose.
Imo it's not that they have $1.5mm more than others, it's just that they have ways to spend that money. Most others don't. Their staff is "full" and they don't see the use of more. Of course, The Saban Way has really changed that with bigger and bigger off-field staffs. And it keeps going.

It's also because they recruit nationally to a large degree, like how we led recruiting budgets in the 90s because we went out west so often.

Here's the snag - you can't just blow money. Gotta use them on actual resources. My guess is they have a larger recruiting/off-field staff than most. I mean...what if we doubled our recruiting staff YoY? I'm curious what would happen.

We're likely going ofer for the weekend, aren't we?
I'd that that bet.

So far the MLB Classic has been a complete luckbox.

UC San Diego (who we play today) got whipped Friday by Grand Canyon 4-12.....turned around and beat Michigan 11-2. Michigan had just whipped Fresno St...who beat just beaten Arizona 5-0....Oh and Michigan has also lost to Michigan St this year.

It feels totally random in the early season. But we'll get this dub today, odds are.

Yeah I'm not sure what the play is to vindicate AP. Wrong for the showboat, got defended(because the game is still active) and started a fight. Truthfully, UNF should have gotten two or more FTs due to techs.

In fairness, most schools weren’t, Georgetown was his best offer coming out of HS. I am surprised though that ETSU didn’t give him a look
ETSU had someone at every one of his games. When Patrick Ewing showed up one night at a game, he immediately jumped on Georgetown. ETSU thought he was in the bag until then.

We just hired Utah State’s OL coach as an ANALYST…that’s pretty boss.

This is precisely why I got upset last night--- folks hitting me up all over who never did when we win, only when we lose or don't do as expected and give me crap about our basketball and now baseball teams not performing... I swear it's crazy how many folks don't like UT and I've never figured out truly why...

Why would you let others upset you over something they said about sports?

Baseball is a sport filled with random outcomes. Unlike football, or to a lesser extent basketball, you can’t physically overwhelm your opponent, so having the biggest and best players doesn’t guarantee day-to-day success in the same way. Over the long haul, though, talent wins - particularly good pitching combined with good fielding.

Tennessee’s pitching looked great the first two games to me. Struggled some with command of pitches, but I chalk that up to being the first couple of games. The fielding was slightly more suspect, although the announcers said the lighting in the stadium wasn’t great.

I think the hitting is going to come around. Dickey has an excellent swing, Burke is a beast. Moore and Clark have pop, etc. they just need to find their groove.
