Rick Pitino is a top 5 all time coach lol. As the guy said. Coaches will tell you he is top 5 all time. The track record is insane. Immense Success everywhere. Even at Iona.
I think winning at Providence is a bigger deal than Iona…. At Iona…. He is by far the best coach in the conference and his name helps bring in the most talent…. Similar to Calhoun when he came back to coach saint josephs and went 26-3 11-0 in conference…. Which coach would you take out of the top 5?

My mum is a travel writer (sixlegswilltravel.com).
She writes from the perspective of a blind traveler and gets invited all over the world to write and review places.

Next week she will be in Kentucky by invite to write about the 2023 Bourbon Classic.

On her way back to Greenville she and my dad will be stopping in Knoxville and have been invited to check out Dead End BBQ and Sweet P's (as well as some other museums and the Sun Sphere and such).

To round out her article she is hoping to add a few more Knoxville area BBQ stops. Other than Applebee's, what is good over there these days?
(To be clear, while she has been invited by the city of Knoxville to go to Dead End BBQ and Sweet P's, they are not expecting free food at the other places, she just really wants to write a good well rounded article because she loves doing it).
Litton's is a Knoxville classic. I would say Ye Old Steak House but it's went down hill IMO.

Pitino is undoubtedly top 5. If he stays at Kentucky, he’s as revered as Coach K. He had Kentucky set up for over a decade of dominance and multiple championships incoming. Can’t imagine how unbearable UK fans would’ve been been during that era.
Problem is, everyone knows how he came about his success.

Yeah, I live in the Huntsville metro area. It's a small city with a lot of potential for growth. The real estate market is pretty hot still but there's a lot of new development. Traffic isn't a nightmare. Good cost of living with plenty of bigger city amenities. It's biggest weakness in my opinion is lack of good local restaurants. Plenty of green spaces and hiking for people that like the outdoors. It border the Tennessee River to the south and Lake Guntersville is 30 minutes away.

Not sure where you currently live, but I generally recommend it for people looking for a good small city experience.
I love Huntsville...it will at some point be discovered like the Tri-Cities are now and it will be flooded with northerners...and real estate will go sky high.

I don’t live in Huntsville but it’s a great spot IMO. My sister and BIL have a lake house and small cabin right next door on Guntersville Lake. My nephew also lives there. It’s a fast growing city and it’s only gonna get better. If you wanna move there, I’d suggest to do it now because it’s still cheap and the ROI is gonna be massive IMO.
My in-laws all live in the Guntersville-Albertville area...we lived there for 6 years from 07-13 and it was mostly just dead, but it's blowing up pretty good now...Guntersville in particular.

In the words of King Edward the First from Braveheart.."The trouble with NE Alabama is it's full of Bammers"...and quite a few Barners as well, but they aren't anywhere near as irritating as the Bubbers.

Dang, Lady Vols 20-9, 12-2 SEC, sitting at third in the conference. Honestly, that's really impressive considering number 1 and 2 are top 5 teams nationally.

Not where this program deserves to be but really isn't that bad. I've just yet to see them get a big upset win.
The part that concerns me is only having one commit the past two seasons…. It does look like recruiting is picking up in the future but will she be able to hold on to her position that long…. Need some really good transfers this year.

Random but isn't there a poster or two here from Huntsville, AL? Thoughts on the city and area?

...Spent the majority of my adult working life working in Huntsville area and living on the TN side of the border for half of it and Guntersville the other half. Loved the area and would recommend it. I needed to move home (Knox/Blount) area to deal with family considerations years ago, but still have family just above the state line. I have long held that the silly straight state line was an error and the river should have been the border. Guntersville was a great place to raise my daughters, except for the reality of in-state tuition requiring us to opt for AU instead of UT

Been here since '01, but born and raised in Chattanooga... Really good place to live, city is booming and growing steadily... they are spending money to upgrade across the city at all times... Great school systems... surprisingly plenty of sports to see if you are into that, or outdoors/fishing, hiking, hunting, etc...

There's surprisingly a lot of northern transfers already and have been here for a while, but all in engineering/tech... This is largely an engineer/military/tech town...UAH actually has a hockey team and Lacrosse teams (usually a northern sport) and has done some damage over the years... They've won the Div ll hockey championship several times back in the day, and usually whips a couple of large schools every season. Goldie Hawn and Curt Russell's son was the goalie a while ago and they had a condo here and would go to every home game...
We have semi-pro hockey, had arena football (up until COVID but not sure coming back), about to have soccer, baseball, etc...
Real estate is trending steadily upward as the city grows... Just put in a new FBI campus on the arsenal and are in the final stages of moving the Space Command Center from Colorado Springs to Huntsville... We are one of a few areas/states that have two major car manufacturing plants within a couple of miles of each other in our surrounding county...

Negatives for me--- state tax, no lottery, not enough good restaurants... Just saw on the news this morning that we are one of seven states that taxes all food?

Man I wish the basketVOLs had been healthier this season, feel like we've had a bit of a nose dive with the injury bug (JJJ, Phillips, Uros for a game or two, Santi missed some time) it's just made things more challenging. They'll make the NCAA at least, but I don't know how much I trust them if they aren't at full strength and healthy. Hoping they can hang on for a top 4 seed and get the double bye for the SECT to help with getting back healthy.

I'm not saying officiating is corrupt, but it's pretty frustrating when we seem to always have far less FT attempts against the blue bloods. Especially when it's not like we're racking up a ton more fouls...just seems like these teams always get the good whistles (on shot attempts) and we only ever get foul calls when it's not giving us shots.

Game 1 vs Kentucky 7 of 10 from the FT line vs them 22 of 25 (lost the game by 7) 24 PFs vs 18 for them
Game 2 vs Kentucky 4 of 14 from the FT line vs them 23 of 35 (lost the game by 12) 20 PFs vs 19 for them

at Arizona 8 of 10 from the FT line vs them 24 of 27 (lost the game by 5) 24 PFs vs 15 for them

Officiating is just very inconsistent and as a team that plays physical defense but doesn't attack the rim it seems to really bite us in games. 5 of our losses we've shot less than 15 free throws in, while giving up no fewer than 24 attempts. Oddly enough Missouri and Colorado were the only losses where we got to the line more than they did.

4 games left at A&M tomorrow then South Carolina and Arkansas at home then end the season on the road at Auburn. Depending on the effort for the full game we could win all 4, but we could also lose all 4. Frustrating season when at times we've seen this team look damn near unbeatable.
