It's a lot of offensive production to replace. Wr, qb, ol....Hard to imagine next year being 'as good'. Plus road trips to Bama and Florida always seem daunting.

I think the defense has a chance to take another step. And I don't think we'll suck offensively.

I would say 8-4 is still on track.... And not 'down' or rebuilding.

We exceeded all expectations last year. So a step back from that isn't really a step back imo.
See i dont know if you understand how our personel compares to our opponents.

It may be difficult to replace Wright and Carvin

Not worried about Milton. So he dices up Clemson and then just sucks after another year under Heupel who has never had a QB that didn't light it up? Then if Nico comes in whose more talented than like anybody and he can't light it up either with weapons everywhere?

Squirrel replaces Hyatt.

Bru is a freak. Keyton is an NFL player. Dont'e Thornton is another freak who will go off in our offense.

Warren is back, Castles is a projected NFL player

All our RB's are back

Three starting offensive linemen return

Then we picked up two transfer o-linemen, one of whom graded out better than any other lineman in the ACC.

We got a good corner in the portal. Everyone else is back and will go through spring practice this year, unlike last year. Safety will be better because Flowers is gone and Walker will start.

Beasley was a beast. Keenan Pili is a 26 year old grown man at LB.

Our defensive line is extremely deep, very experienced and has Rodney Garner.

We might have the best punt returner in the country in Dee Williams

Chase Campbell had better stats kicking at Indiana than Chase did here. Bigger leg.

The Australian punter was a rugby player....

I'm not seeing a lot of holes here people!

That group is gonna lose to Kentucky?

They are gonna let USCjr come in here and beat us again??

Graham Mertz and sunbelt Billy are stopping the Heup train???

A&M magically puts it together and finds good QB play and wins in Neyland????

I don’t think that’s it. They punished us for that already, according to the article. There was probably something we weren’t telling them, but we got snitched on, and they’re coming down harder because we hid it if I had to guess.
I was reading something last night, I think it has to do with a tweet, I believe Darren Rovell put it out. I'll try to find what I was reading but it basically admitted that Ahuna had an NIL with TN before he had signed and been admitted into school.

I just don't see us losing four games because it's hard for me to rationalize how four teams on our schedule that can beat us. Maybe during the season that will become evident, but right now it doesn't really look like anyone outside of Bama and UGA can beat us and we don't even know what they will look like at QB.

A&M, Florida, UK and USCjr? How good of a chance do they actually have? Not enough for me to possibly predict that any of them will beat us. They all have more question marks than we do and we were better than all of them last year.
A&M is set up to have a big turnaround season. We lost to a USCe team we should've smoked. Florida is Florida. UK should be a win. It's not certain we win all those games. If we split them and have possible losses for UGA & Bama, that's 4 losses.

4 losses, based on where we were when Heupel was hired is progress. Even though it's not as good as year2, it is still better or on par with where we should be in Y3.

Same way I see it subject to the injury bug which this S&C program seems averse to inviting in the door.

I think the D takes a big step forward this season.

We've seen people go down here for less. There's a nervous energy for sure to this Vitello situation. There needs to be a real outcry if there is further punishment beyond this weekend series. It's hard to fathom that there's so much energy being put into this situation, while there's seemingly none being put into Alabama and this situation they have on their hands, the fact that Miller and Bradley (who also had a role in the murder) are still playing and the fact that Oats is coaching. It really pisses me off that we get the hammer it seems for flicking flies while gun fights have occurred involving Bama players and not even a slap on the wrist. Corruption at its finest.
The punishment was self-imposed. Are we going to get angry at DW now?

With all this gaming talk, I told my son there's no fortnite today til I introduce him to the OG Goldeneye!View attachment 538094
If I had to pick 3 games I grew up with as entertainment while stranded on a tropical island. . .

1 Goldeneye. . .
2 Mario Kart. . . (only if stranded with other people)
2b Fallout 3
3 Ea football?

3rd is hard to say. . . maybe something like a metroid prime game. . .

I just left Sam’s Club in Jonesboro, AR. I saw a husband and wife representing UT big time while in the store. Orange sweatshirts, orange shoes and husband had on a gray cap with orange bill with a Power T. I did not have opportunity to speak to them.
Did that happen to be any of you VN faithful?

I was wondering who that Hee Haw looking pervert was that was staring me and the missus up and down like he wanted to get with us.

Same way USCjr "couldn't beat us".

Comes down to cumulative odds. Just like how we almost lost to Pitt and somehow could have even lost to UF at the end.

A&M, UF, UK, USCjr may not be favorites individually, but each has their own 20-40% chance (let's just say for easy maths). So cumulatively it would be likely we would lose to one of them (75% chance if we give each of them a 30% chance to win, equal to a 7 pt underdog, as the gators are in way-too-early spreads). And losing 2 isn't out of the window, though a lot less likely. Could throw Mizzou in there too with maybe a 10-20% shot(?). The odds are we'll drop one of those 5 and it could come from the least likely like USCjr was...those things can just happen in sports.

I'm steady on 9-3 as most likely. So anything from 11-1 to 7-5 is within the floor-to-ceiling normal distribution range. Hoping for the former.

All good points, I’d just add about the OL that our snafus with that position group dating back to Dooley are over. Ellarbee teaches, develops and coaches at an elite level and options on the roster we don’t anticipate along with strategic portal additions will result in competition for snaps that only benefit the product. This time last year, the concern was replacing what was considered our NFL talent in Cade Mays. Huge doubt that Darnell Wright would be able to move to RT because we had NO ONE feasible at LT…we did aight. Many clamored for Carvin to play center because Cooper was a mixed bag and injury risk…now he’s an institution. Those are two losses but there’s viable talent waiting for it’s chance and every season that OL gets more natural and instinctive in this offense. To the point where veterans are passing it down. That’s winning culture that we’ve lacked since the best Fulmer seasons.

I can’t take this list seriously as you left out Contra or Super Contra. 😀
