Pretty well sums it up.

NCAA, Birmingham and Sankey (in particular) can stick it. Bad officiating and umpiring can exit with rotten tomatoes and eggs splattered on them for all I care. Not asking for preference - just want honesty and fairness. Saban can whine, pout, scream - don't care. Don't give one shiz about that any media thinks. Diaper them all and put send them to bed.

Vols or nothing.
Not sure how you parse it. How you scrub the reffing ranks to find objective folks. Do you go find an entire female
crew? Or just go to robots?

I have a very bad feeling about this game and how it will be called. We are going to get called for every hand check, screen, arm tap, etc. I am going on record that we have at least 20 fouls called, and they shoot 20+ FTs. Hope we are able to adjust to how it’s called.

Yep. The AA will be calling Pat Adams & crew or Doug Shows & crew on speed dial. It will probably go like this...

"Get your azzes to MSG, NOW! We can't have that bunch of misfits going any farther. The whole country may fall in love with them and screw everything up."

Vols give up, on average, 18 FT attempts per game. So I could see 20 easily.

Actually, the last basketball crew was not far off other than reversing the obvious call they made near the end. Call it the same way for both teams. That's where they really screw with whoever they want. You see it all the time. One team can grab and hold in basketball and football, where the other team gets called for breathing on the opponent. The only way to kill it is for the officials to lose their jobs. Three strikes you are out. Those officials are depending on the income they receive. Nearly all of them are not doing the job just because they love to officiate, they would not do it for free because of the abuse. Have known a few of them on the collegiate and HS level through the years.

Human nature being what it is - without a truly detached review and audit function you can't parse it. With technology and AI improving, the computerized reviews can catch a bunch of it. Like with replay - I have no problem with using it at all in all sports. I have a problem with allowing the same officials/umpires who messed the call up having the final say in reversing it. It could be done in seconds when ready.

I am all for balls/strikes being called robotically. That is probably coming to MLB soon since it has been used in the minors for awhile now. Set the zone and live with it. It will be consistent.

We are speaking to the inevitable nut kick because of law of averages dictates.

Too many Euros on that team. This is America!

The officials are doing what they're told.

Possible narratives:
1. An incredible run by legendary future Hall of Famer Rick Barnes in the twilight of his illustrious career.
2. A highly veteran, senior team using experience and physical play to run through the tournament against a sport that has shifted to younger teams having the most success. Possibly influencing college basketball in the near future. Directly rivaling "one-and-done" recruiting and basketball culture.

What we are getting instead:
"Dirty thugs from Knoxville. Uros Plavsic is probably a Russian and has a shrine to Putin in his apartment. Vescovi's grandparents are probably suspiciously German. Rick Barnes gives all his players brass knuckles to hold in their balled up fists."

It’s always interesting to watch a narrative built in real time. Someone said here or in the basketball forum that Tennessee’s “physical play” wasn’t an issue or worth even a mention until the Vols beat Duke and now they’re bullies and it’s basically rugby rules out there and oh my God they’re eating him they’re eating Filipowski’s flesh right from his face and he’s screaming

Will be obvious if the officiating has been altered by the ESPN complaints about the Duke game.

FAU on the season is 208th in free throw attempts per game at 17.4.

They shoot a lot of 3s though, and hit them too. 9th in made 3 pointers at 9.7 a game and 19th in attempts at 26.4 a game, and 52nd in % at 36.7%.

They got one legit big and then a 6'8" guy that plays minutes...they seem to play with less pace typically than FDU and don't drive to the basket as much. Will be an interesting game, if our guards can stay in front of their smaller guards and we don't get in foul trouble I think we have a good chance to win and advance.

JJJ done had it, and I don't blame him. All y'all "we're getting bounced in the first round" can shove it.

Proud to see them big boy duke, but I hope they're still hungry. They haven't accomplished ****.

I'm just hoping we get a decently called game. There's too much being made about our physical play. We've done it all season. Look at the bama game from earlier in the season.
