She was seriously unstoppable. It was very impressive. South Carolina still should have won the game. They threw the ball away several times, or played loose like Iowa would fold eventually just because they're SC and everyone folds. A lesson in pride.

I'm not with you guys. I think SC played a really tough game. I think they just ran into a generational talent/competitor putting together a string of legendary performances. I personally love the spectacle of sports, specifically when Tennessee isn't playing. I want to see Clark put on a show in the finals.

Can Iowa do it for one more game? There's been at least a couple of times where a team knocks off an undefeated team in the Final 4, but then isn't able to win the championship. Mississippi State women's team a number of years back that beat Uconn and the Wisconsin team that beat Kentucky.

But, neither one of those teams had Clark. She's a special player.

Got some great news today..... My wife received a job offer today! It is for significantly less than she was making but it is work and we can pay the bills. We will figure the rest out as we go along but we can keep a roof over our heads and just as importantly keep a barn over and provide care for our animals.

My daughter found out last night she won first place for her Spanish II essay at the competition in Memphis last weekend. 22 other private and public schools participated, she also decided to try out for and made the cheerleading team. She gives up so much and never asks for anything, I am so proud of her.

Update on the rooster the neighbor brought to us. I fear he has head trauma. He does not respond to light and does not appear to have any vision. I'm continuing to feed and water him with a syringe. I've made the decision to give him another day or so to show any signs of improvement of vision. If he does not I'm afraid I will be forced to make the decision to put him down humanely.

All of our other animals are doing well. I'm very nervous due to the weather this evening. Until these storms pass I will get no rest. Thank you for all of your prayers! Continue to keep us in your thoughts. Thank you all for everything!

More defense –

(Feb 2018) The New England Patriots have what's commonly referred to as a bend-but-don't-break defense. The Pats ranked 29th in the NFL in yards allowed during the regular season. That's the bend part. Despite that, the Pats managed to rank fifth in points allowed. That's the don't-break part. That 24-spot differential was the single largest in the NFL between a team's yards and points allowed rankings.

"Obviously we don't want to give up all those yards," cornerback Eric Rowe said. "That just sucks in the first place. But when we get down to the red zone it's like we all understand that if we can just hold them to three points, they're not going to beat us kicking field goals. Everyone's alertness goes up. Sometimes no one even says anything. Everyone's body language just tightens up."

I looked at the difference between where FBS teams in 2022 ranked for total defense (yards/game) vs where they ranked for scoring defense (points/game). We ranked #92 in total defense and #36 in scoring defense. That’s a difference of plus 56 places for our scoring defense which was the largest differential in all of FBS in 2022.

Translation: We had the #1 bend, don’t break defense in the entire country in 2022.

A couple other perceived talent limited teams familiar to us that were thought to have a good defense in 2022 were Missouri and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh’s defense (total defense) was ranked #23 in the nation but their scoring defense was ranked behind us at #51, minus 28 spaces vs their total defense. Missouri got accolades for their defensive improvement in 2022 (and considering what they had in 2021 maybe some of that was warranted). Their total defense ended up ranked #34 but their scoring defense came in at #56, also behind us and minus 22 spaces vs their total defense. The worst FBS performer was Greg Schiano at Rutgers. His total defense was 38th best in the nation; his scoring defense was 95th, minus 57 spaces. You hate to see it. lol

Coach BJ-M said in his media appearance this past week that our LB group was working on pass coverage so that we could help out more with the underneath stuff when we’re in zone coverage. He said Arion Carter and Elijah Herring were tied for most interceptions in the group thus far in spring practice. Adam Sparks (KNS) is covering spring practice and this week he said he thinks Carter has a chance to start this year and if not at least be one of the first in for rotation. I’ve heard others express a similar first impression regarding Carter. CBJ-M was pretty high on Carter but obviously noted he’s still learning the defense. I’m not worried about that. He was recruited by Yale. I think the odds are good he could be ready in plenty of time for Virginia. jmo.

Also got to account for those teams’ offenses turning it over at terrible times as well. All three phases work together

She looks like a clown on the sidelines. Great coach, but when did she lose all since of fashion
When she left Baylor and got a new stylist with her new job at LSU. She was fashion forward at Baylor too, but now it’s just over the top. When the coach’s ootd is talked about more than the team…that’s a distraction not a fashion choice.

And yes I’m still a little salty that she left Baylor.
