We came across a Tūī when hiking in NZ that was an amazing mimic and also made bizarre electronic sounds when it wanted to mix it up.

I knew this was going on to an extent bc I remember reading a study on pigeons and crows picking up city sounds. But that article was more about how birds were modulating/adapting to environmental change and noise pollution. Blue Jays are the devil whether they make sounds or not. And Mockingbirds (I learned this the hard way) sing their hearts out when they are looking for a mate. Never have I wanted a love match to be made more quickly than when I had a young one waking me up wayyyyyyyy too early one year.

Our german shepherd will not tolerate blue jays in our yard. She chased them from tree to tree and barked at them from directly below a branch, even following them in flight barking and lunging at them overhead (which is pretty comical) until they all left. 😂 Maybe we should rent her out at a fat fee as a service 😂

We have a kid at our club who is 15. Has won the past TWO TSSAA championships in 8th and 9th grade. Routinely shots mid 60’s at the club. Already has more than 30 college offers. Best 15 yr old I’ve ever witnessed…..and I played with several that have played on tour.

SIAP: listening to “talkin’ VAWLS” they had a high school coach on there (coaching clinic so they got to watch whole scrimmage). He said that 12 (nico) was way better than 7 (Milton). He said Milton was throwing to wrong guys, throwing into contested matchups when there were guys that had separation, accuracy issues. Then said nico is that guy. His decision making was fast and he was way more accurate. First drive marched down field and hit Castles up the middle for a TD.

That bothersome or exciting?

Also gave praises too, both byu transfers days keenen Phili looks really fast sideline to sideline, dee Williams looks good and fast, biggest praise was Joshua joesphs saying he was in back field on every play it seemed, the CB’s turned their heads to find the ball, and Dylan Sampson looked really good in zone plays.
The non praises were the safety’s.

So from reports our starters at DB will prob be the BYU guy and Doneiko, which makes sense as to why our CB’s are turning their heads lol

Not too sure who will play safety. Wonder if Matthews could play back there?
- I hope Tank sits the bench this year.
- Charles has fallen off as well.

I don’t want to get into another firing Barnes convo but I hate this mindset….. let’s shoot to be at the top of every sport we play…. Stop putting boundaries on our programs… The reason why the Lady Vols are considered the standard for women’s basketball is bc they hired Pat Summitt…. No other reason at all….The reason men’s basketball has not achieved higher levels is bc we hired Houston, O’Neill, Green, Peterson, Martin, and Tyndall….. The coaches that we have hired since the 80’s….. Pearl and Barnes…. It’s not a coincidence that we have reached number one in the country under both coaches…Pearl had us one point from a final four and Barnes has been a model of consistency during the regular season.

If Tennessee basketball had the foresight to hire Coach K, Dean Smith, Jim Calhoun, Bobby Knight, or several other coaches… our history would be entirely different.

I feel like we need to move on Kellie Harper…. She just doesn’t have it, imo…. It may be hard to justify it at this time though….if you switched our roster with LSU….We still would have been out when we were while Mulkey would have our roster in the Final Four.

That CB lineup excites me. DOneiko was good just raw last year stepping in. Tank, man he’s frustrating haha
