We have a kid at our club who is 15. Has won the past TWO TSSAA championships in 8th and 9th grade. Routinely shots mid 60’s at the club. Already has more than 30 college offers. Best 15 yr old I’ve ever witnessed…..and I played with several that have played on tour.

I am so happy about the increased opportunities for young people to learn, play and excel in golf today. So much better than when I was young. Training them up as athletes as well as truly understanding the better ways to play the game. The talent pool is off the charts. Need to dial back the ball a bit so the average course does not become obsolete, but in general things are trending well IMO.

Just curious, what was Coach Pat Summitt’s record her first few years?
I remember when I was at Tennessee, the narrative was that some didn’t think she could get over the hump and actually win a national championship 😳

Coached Tennessee for 13 years before winning a national championship.
Year 3 made AIAW semifinals (ncaa didn’t take over until 1982)
Before they won a national championship:
Knocked out of tournament 3 years before final 4,
Made 4 final fours,
Was runner up 3 years

I remember her being called the brides maid never the bride coach. Just couldn’t win the biggest game(s). Until she did and then all those narratives went away. Then as she continued to win, she became the greatest ever (she always was, just took others a while to realize it).

Just think if the AD had been impatient and moved on to another coach 😳

I am a huge Pat Head Summitt fan. Always will be.

Kirby smart taking a little shot at the offense… he can take notes in November. Sure. He’s the only one that has obliterated the offense. But we’ll see what happens this year. 24’ and 25’ as well. That talent disparity will shrink. I expect he’ll be more quiet about it after that

Take away his secondary holding our receivers on every play along with better pass pro and the field becomes more level. OSU proved that in the playoffs when the officiating was not controlled opposition.

What did Kirby say?

She was 28-5 by year 3 and finished 3rd overall if I am reading it correctly…. That was during the AIAW…. First year with the NCAA tourney…. She went to the final four…. I remember there being some questioning whether she would get over the hump to win a title but not much more than that.

I don’t want to get into another firing Barnes convo but I hate this mindset….. let’s shoot to be at the top of every sport we play…. Stop putting boundaries on our programs… The reason why the Lady Vols are considered the standard for women’s basketball is bc they hired Pat Summitt…. No other reason at all….The reason men’s basketball has not achieved higher levels is bc we hired Houston, O’Neill, Green, Peterson, Martin, and Tyndall….. The coaches that we have hired since the 80’s….. Pearl and Barnes…. It’s not a coincidence that we have reached number one in the country under both coaches…Pearl had us one point from a final four and Barnes has been a model of consistency during the regular season.

If Tennessee basketball had the foresight to hire Coach K, Dean Smith, Jim Calhoun, Bobby Knight, or several other coaches… our history would be entirely different.

I feel like we need to move on Kellie Harper…. She just doesn’t have it, imo…. It may be hard to justify it at this time though….if you switched our roster with LSU….We still would have been out when we were while Mulkey would have our roster in the Final Four.

I was all for dawn until she came out at the press conference sour af after a loss and made it a racial narrative…now I don’t know who I would like here…but pretty holly isn’t it…and I miss Bruce…Barnes has hit his ceiling…everything else you said was spot on👍🏽

What is your opinion on Kellie as a coach?

SIAP: listening to “talkin’ VAWLS” they had a high school coach on there (coaching clinic so they got to watch whole scrimmage). He said that 12 (nico) was way better than 7 (Milton). He said Milton was throwing to wrong guys, throwing into contested matchups when there were guys that had separation, accuracy issues. Then said nico is that guy. His decision making was fast and he was way more accurate. First drive marched down field and hit Castles up the middle for a TD.

That bothersome or exciting?
That's an opinion. Nothing more or less.

Doesn't bother me at all. Whatever helps us win is all I care about

Hearing a lot of this from the scrimmage, makes me wonder if we will actually have a qb battle or if it will take Milton struggling in a game or two before we will finally turn to Nico

Watched six episodes of Daisy Jones and the Six. The studio stuff is really enjoyable. The testimonials are so stilted and terribly acted. Kinda surprised they kept them in the show. Its like they took the second AD and gave them a list of sentences and put the actor in front of the camera and had them read them off one at a time. I will finish out the season even if its hitting every single cliche along the way.

I think that if their dbs were consistently called for holding and PI, then our OL would have been fine because the receivers would have been open. Our OL would not have been so stressed out and multiple false starts would not have happened.

Hopefully our AD submitted an official complaint to the SEC and NCAA about the officiating missing so many calls on their defense. Especially since kirby bragged about it. Including direct quotes from the uga coach. Maybe the officials will take it personally and call a fair game…doubtful, but there’s always hope.

Time to make a statement:

15-0 🤠

Just in case it hasn’t already been said enough yet.

My dog has gotten me through personal tragedy. I owe her more than I could express. You are still, a moran.
You answered my question.

My hypothesis 'dog is just a dog,' was fallacious. In fact, 'a dog isn't just a dog.' Based on empirical data from qualified authority.

Makes cents, and yes I'm a moran.
