That’s an excellent example…. Jay Wright develops skilled offensive players…. Barnes typically has a team made up of really good athletes with a basketball player or two….. Look at Wrights last championship team…. He had 6 double figure scorers with 2 of them at 17-18 ppg….They shot 50% from the field and 40% from three…. We need to start developing a better offensive system with better offensive players. You can criticize Barnes for things, but I disagree with that being something that holds him back for the tournament. Jay Wright set the model by developing top 75 players for 2-4 years. You get the top 75 talent with the experience in their last years. Barnes has essentially done a similar thing and also sprinkled in a few one and dones. He had to start with 3 star players like Grant, Admiral, Bone, and Fulky but continued with Pons, Vescovi and in process with Aidoo, Mashak, Dilione, Jefferson, and Estrella. I think that strategy is the way to go, but you may have a down year every once in a while. We just don’t take transfer to be a top player on the team.
You’re using over generalizations about different races, ethnicities, and nationalities to support your argument. I suspect digging into every one of those things breaks down on closer examination.
Cool story bro time. I have seen the photos and heard bits of the story first hand.
The wife of a first cousin on my wife's side of the family had gone to FL to see family over Easter. She heads to the airport to come home to find her flight is delayed (imagine that). So she hangs around by the gate bored out of her mind for a couple of hours with others who are heading back to Knoxville. They are all worn out and grumbling. A tall, young good looking, nice, young black man, (she's white, matronly, about 60 years old) strolls over and asks her if she is as bored as he is. She laughs and tells him she needs to get back to Knoxville to see her grand babies and take care of her handicapped husband since she has been gone for a week. He laughs and asks her if he could sit with her while they waited and she tells him of course, she would enjoy the company. They start having a conversation and talking about family, the trip down there, and so on. She asks him where he worked in Knoxville or did he go to school. He laughs again and gives her his name.
It was Joe Milton. She said she nearly fell out her seat since she is a big Vols fan. That's when the photos started getting taken. They had a great time getting to now each other and exchanged phone numbers.
They finally arrived back in town later that evening. About the time she was walking in the door to her home, she got a text from Joe asking if she made it home OK.
What a guy. Class act. What a blessing to be Vol fans with who is wearing the orange.
