That 3rd inning was a killer tonight. Our fielding mistakes caused us to spiral out of control again tonight.



Meanwhile, Hog fans getting engaged at the ball park.

Tony has to get control of this. It has the effect of making them press, which feeds into their mistakes. If we could somehow steal a win here it would be huge.

My kids convinced me we needed to learn Morse code tonight. Had fun with it after dinner….so much fun that my 10 year old decided Morse Code needed a refresh, so she announced a one month challenge for two teams (boys against girls) to develop a new form of communication.

Not a ton of confidence that we’ll accomplish anything in 30 days, but I love my kids and their creativity. Nothing better than being a dad.

Young team with a lot of talent making mistakes. Tale as old as time.

Things to consider: The team can easily turn a corner in the postseason. I think its great they're going through this disappointment and adversity because most of them will play together for another 1 to 2 years and these struggles will build them towards the familiarity that last year's squad had.

Maybe Vitello wants them to go through the ringer and see who steps up to be the leader and galvanizes the bunch?

Also, I find it slightly amusing remembering the number of people who 💩 on the BasketVols, completely wrote them off, and made references to "I am just waiting to watch winning baseball, they won't let me down," statements.

Grass is always greener.

I believe BaseVols will get it sorted, though.

That's what I'm thinking too. TV is letting them take the growing pains and lumps this season and come back strong next year. On the other hand, this team keeps making fielding mistakes errors. It's happened in at least 1 inning, in the losses we've had, since SEC play started. To me, that's mental and can be corrected this season but it needs to happen soon.




**** I keep reminding myself that TV had to replace 8 starters and we had 10 players drafted off of last years team. It puts this year in perspective

Our baseball team just isn’t what we expected this year, although it’s tough to top what we had last year. Maui Ahuna isn’t what we expected either. He’s been a disappointment so far.
