Bra says we will lose some folks, AP took under at 3.
If we do, we may portal shop. Depends on who is out there, and if it's at positions we need help. Could be we put Bishop on scholarship given the reports of how he's done during Spring Practice. JMO, but the only positions I'd say we may need help at are OL and TE (for depth). But if there's a star player that jumps in the portal that instantly makes us better, and he has interest in coming here, you likely don't say no.

And I'm not sure if we really need help at the OL, or if we just need our OL to gel. We just need them to protect Milton. As far as TE, I just wonder if we might need one more for depth? I think we have our starters, but if someone gets hurt...??

SIAP how can I watch the spring game? Have YouTube tv and espn plus
Here's what UT said (#55,589):
The contest will air digitally on SEC Network+ and ESPN+ with Justin Kutcher and Jordan Rodgers on the call. SECN+/ESPN+ goes live at 2 p.m. and will feature interviews and show warmups. Vol Network pregame show begins at 2:15 p.m. and leads into the broadcast featuring the "Voice of the Vols" Bob Kesling, VFLs Pat Ryan and Chris Brown and Brent Hubbs.
There's a spring roster at that link too.

I know his story…and his stats. We’re talking “what if”. With a functioning hip, this was a transcendent athlete who loved the game. 1989 (his All-Star season) was an indicator of the player he was bound to be. And he would have at least plied his trade to his late 30’s/early 40’s. Increase his average a tad along with his power and defensive elite prowess? That’s at least as good as Kirby Puckett…and far away from “no way”. I was no fanboy of Bo. That “Bo knows” ad campaign annoyed me at the time. Age has a way of making one recognize the greatness witnessed in a lifetime.

Hip injury was ‘91. He was already 28. Probably only had 4-5 years of prime left. Maybe he hits 150 homers during that time but that still leaves him short of 300 for his career and power was about all he was bringing to the table.

At 28 you’re beginning your prime. His game was power AND speed. Most of his baseball development was in high school and a secondary basis to football at Auburn. They fasttracked him in the minors so his seasoning was basically on the job. He was a cheat code waiting to happen before the freak hip injury. I would say in hindsight that his brand marketing ego ploy to play football as a “hobby” cut into his baseball development. To be at your best in that sport, you need to live and breathe it…no half measures. Taking football out of the equation altogether, he and his intact hip coronate Cooperstown, guaranteed.

Got some good answers on players to watch. What position group are y’all going to pay particular attention to? Do you think the team will be farther along than they were this time last year?

I look forward to seeing the LBs. Think we have a good group there. I think we're solid almost everywhere. The real question marks, IMO, are the OL and the secondary. OL because we have to replace two very solid guys in Wright and Carvin. Secondary because they need to prove they've fixed their problems before I believe.

Prolly right. My favorite thing about Bo was and will always be the Vols beating him and top-ranked Auburn in Neyland. A top-tier game.

I watched a VHS of that game until I wore the tape out. Didn't Dale Jones break his face-mask on Bo's chest one play?

To their credit, that team won that game when a lot of past Tennessee teams we've watched would have lost it. Same for the Florida and Alabama games.
Don't give credit for loser mentality of giving up on your most beloved team.

It's also just flat out silly to decide what a team is or isn't partway through a season. UConn bball was meh 2 months into the season...

Every year I'm like "oh I'm gonna watch this group or that"

And every year I watch it like any other game...watch qb until ball leaves hand...then watch whoever has ball...ball in air...just watch ball 😅
