That sounds like misinformation from a team, trying to get him to fall to them.

If so, they want him bad because that might be one of the more negative things I've seen on any prospect. It seems overly harsh. If he was as entitled as that report claims how on Earth did Heupel and co. do so well with him?

Never heard that about him...polar opposite take from those who've covered him.

I always liked Wright but I've been wrong on players before. It just seems harsh but then I read it again. In one sentence they say he has tiny hands and in the next talk about how strong his hands are.

I previously thought he would get drafted somewhere in the 13-18 range. Now, I'm starting to wonder if he could sneak into the bottom end of the Top 10.

They won't release info. But if it's good, we'll hear sooner. If it's not going our way, UT will want to delay till summer, hoping for advantageous rule changes or reinterpretations. Only one violation matters to UT: reducing the Failure to Monitor to take the harshest penalties off the table.

That's why Sankey was there-- to protect UT from punishments that would impact the conference/postseason and/or unfairly punish current coaches and players for the malfeasance of those no longer with the program. And UT brought a legal platoon to show that unfair treatment will be met with resistance from a university that can afford to escalate and is backed by a powerful conference that will stand behind its member institutions.
so, we good?

I'm about as casual as it gets when it comes to the NFL so I keep forgetting that NFL teams constantly lie and spread misinformation about prospects during the draft season and that people are still ok with that kind of barbaric practice (and it is barbaric some of the stuff that gets said that you hear about years later).

But I thought Wright would go super high this draft (he's got a higher profile than Ja'Waun James had and he went 19th - Wright's performance against Anderson was as high profile as Tiny Richardson vs Clowney and if you remember Tiny was the one we all expected to go ridiculously high but his knees were shot). I don't want to say Wright is better than James and Tiny but he's at least as good and he has the profile Tiny did without the injuries. I also get the feeling Hooker is going to surprise a lot of people.

Don't see how you could say Wright is lazy when he dominated Bama and UGA and then went on to impress at Senior Bowl week and the Combine. You don't just "Guess I'm good enough" through that gauntlet of achievements.

Simply teams trying to get him to drop into their lap. We are in the bluffing and misinformation stage of the NFL draft process.

His hands measured at 33 3/4. IDEAL is considered 34. So 1/4 = "tiny"? They got lazy with this narrative with Peter Skoronski and his 32 hands and can't turn it off. Skoronski is gonna beast the NFL for some lucky franchise who don't listen to these nerdbaits.

I don't...highly confident.
Khan is the kind of gm that doesn’t seem like he lets much info get out of the facility…. That’s why I doubt any of the noise out there…. Especially since none of it is coming from the Steelers media personalities….If he does decide to trade with the Bears…. I am 100% confident he will get a good deal… that man has been on point so far.

@SoilVol
Are you finished with your doctorate exams and if so, any idea when you will know the results?
Oh shoot, I guess I never gave an update. Thanks for asking!

I did pass! I actually impressed my committee during my in-person exam. There was some slight miscommunication on the written portion and I had to make corrections and revisions on one of those, but it was just a formatting issue not a knowledge thing.

So I'm officially a PhD Candidate, or PhD ABD (all but dissertation).

Now if UTIA could get their stuff in order and give my old department the go-ahead to start interviewing for open positions then maybe in a year I'll be back in Knoxville as a professor.
