My son was playing 6-7 year old coach pitch /tee ball….. the coach taught them to raise the ball in the air to stop play… that was all they learned… they would pick the ball up and hold it in the air even when they could get the out.How do you feel about keep your eye on the ball. That was one of my favorites. Saw a short video of a 3 year old running to get the ball and putting it up to his eye.![]()
An example: most coaches/ people feel like when the ball is shot… the defensive player is turn and box out the player closest to them…. The correct is to move to the most likely spot that the ball will come off(backside unless it is definitely short)….. when you get to that spot…. Use your body to pin off players in that area.I feel like you are overanalyzing some application here. You absolutely must maintain proper positioning relative to the offensive player and the rim in order to rebound. That includes physical contact unless you are on the perimeter (around the 3pt line).
Interesting topic for todaydidn’t realize it was a numbers crunch…and who hurst/doesn’t hurt us if they leave

Unpopular opinion, but I don't see the point of playing teeball/baseball games until they're at an age where they can field grounders and actually get outs. It's not like soccer where basic motor skills are good enough to play the game. If they can't throw to first base, just have practices to teach fundamentals. There's no point in the "hold the ball in the air" games. My son was playing 6-7 year old coach pitch /tee ball….. the coach taught them to raise the ball in the air to stop play… that was all they learned… they would pick the ball up and hold it in the air even when they could get the out.![]()
