Anybody listen to the Go Vols 247 podcast with Wes Rucker, Ben McKee, Ryan Callahan etc.? Well I'm sure you do.

I just need a place to vent about how Wes Rucker when referring to Tennessee teams he refers to them as "IT"

"IT has gone into the transfer portal"

I want to strangle him everytime he does it. I don't know why but it drives me NUTS.

I feel like he decided upon saying "it" instead of "they" for some annoying pseudo-intellectual reason.

The football team isn't a freaking it

It's a damn they/them because it's a collection of human beings.

Side note: also can't stand when sports people say "tennessee VERSE alabama" it's "VERSES" you sociopaths!

Agreed with the sentiment here! I take everything I read now with a grain of salt - file it away as an interesting note, but wait until I see it confirmed in several other places before believing it.

I've also wondered if some teams are talking him down so he falls in the draft and they can snag him!

Rucker's an odd duck sometimes. I don't dislike him since the Schiano mess but he's different sometimes.

It's actually the correct usage for journalism according to the AP Style Guide.

Annoying! Almost as annoying as people using “I” as an object pronoun. Like… The Tennessee game versus Alabama with a final score of 49-52 will never be forgotten by you and I.
