Who were the coaches that turned us down that would be considered on the level of Nick or Heup when they were just starting…. We were shooting for “over the moon”…. Those coaches like Matt Campbell had too many options to come here.

The ones that led to us ending up with Pruitt and Butch, and the ones that didn’t want to talk to us after Pruitt. How have you forgotten all that?

Still early, but I believe we ended up with who we needed. Heupel and White/administration has resuscitated the football program.

Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome after it was all burned to the ground.

Snippy. Have you analyzed their rosters and counted the NFL draft picks? I can tell you the record the decade before Saban and Heupel arrived were basically identical between LSU and UT. We aren't the only major program to fall on hard times.

It's not being a negavol or pumping up a rival to point out that maybe Heupel's turnaround is a good corollary for a past turnaround by the highest paid coach in college football (a guy I can't stand btw). I'm with you on the Bama turnaround around (or the Smart/UGA one) being way less impressive than what Heupel's done. I started watching SEC football in 1988 though and LSU was largely irrelevant until Saban got there.

Did LSU have the NCAA and threat of major infractions? Did they have a lack of scholarship players like us because of the best transferred? Did they have a book like Decade of Dysfunction talking about all the internal fighting between powers? Did they have decades of media ridicule? Was their local media against them? Did they have people warning coaches to not take the job? We’re reporters reporting no one wanted the job? These all have to do with a coach’s perception of a place they would want to work. Gundy didn’t help us out any.

I still refuse to pay $200/night for a room I'll barely be staying in. Hello Red Roof.

Red Roof is about $450 a night in the bad part of town. Average hotel is about 1,900 a night. 2,900 downtown.

But nothing compared to NYC area, it's about 3,000 a night anywhere and 6,250 a night median price to stay in Manhattan. Then again their apartments average 156,000 a month to rent and to buy a 1 bedroom 600 sq ft tiny condo is 19.3 million on average. Wild times.

I mean it's either real or imaginary and since we can all see it....it stands to reason that it's 'real.' Of course, that 'real' source could quite literally be anything so we should probably be careful.

It was really more just commentary on the average height of top notch QB's. 6'6" 215 and ability to move seems to be the mold.

I had a nightmare. Tennessee was playing. The announcers didn’t know where Joe was. Nico was being rushed into the game. We had about 5 players, and the other team had about 20. Nico was running around trying to find someone in orange, but nothing was working right. It looked like a long-legged JG back there with nobody helping.

Wasn’t both of those situations due to an incompetent Athletic Department… we are discussing hiring a coach with a competent AD in charge. We nailed our AD’s first choice last time and then the schianamo happened…. I agree that no coach would come here with the incompetent leadership that we had here before.
