I don’t necessarily like the trend of going back in time to punish someone, but they need to put rules in place to protect the players. If you come across anything else about this , please share. I would like to know how this is develops. This was a previous incident from my understanding during the offseason/prior to her taking the job…the WNBA is coming down on her because they’re protecting the women’s choice and privacy…Candace Parker took time away from the game when she became pregnant so a coach having a issue with that is news to me…I always thought it was ok and they just took time away but still traveled with the team.
Value yourself first and foremost. Right. Thinking your value is in other people wanting to see all or most of you, or even the trend of showing that because you need to prove you don’t care that you’re not the ideal, will not make you value yourself even if it seems to for a while. If "showing skin" is the bar, then I digress. Is this Saudia Arabia? Or Puritan times?
Do men showing off their biceps give them confidence and courage? Honest question. I'd say hell yes. I was there in college oh and NicksJunk is still there (Love you man, please don't pulverize me)
Not saying it may be healthy for any human, especially a younger one, to base their sense of value on such a fleeting quality. But if it is part of a larger package of understanding, well that's not abnormal. Men also find their value in "providing" for their family. And women for "caring" for their family. And some folks don't fit into those boxes whatsoever. I think flexibility in understanding your value is critical. Value yourself first and foremost. The rest will follow, as you won't be defined by others...so the rest will be either icing or moot.
So there is nothing that can be proven? Yet she got suspended? And players are demanding more? The coach was on an already planned conference call today and is adamant she did nothing wrong. The player had been on their roster when it occurred, and they eventually traded her to make a championship run. It appears the player got mad in hindsight and believes her pregnancy had something to do with the trade. The coach said she had a private conversation with her about her plans. One of the players they got for her was Candace Parker. Some of the other players on the team were never interviewed.
I know all that...it was still his plan, he said it was the only way Japan could win....if not for Midway being such a devastating loss for them it probably would have still worked after all.Yamamoto was hesitant, Tojo and others in the army were the driving force, Yamamoto was educated in the U.S. and knew what our response would be and our capabilities. He said that if the U.S. didn't capitulate with in six months that Japan would lose.
Yeah...that has changed...it would absolutely work now.I think they believed all our free press was reporting about how much people didn’t want to go to war and politicians agreeing with them that we would stay out of it. They didn’t realize that behind that talk was a nation of determined people that would never back down from a fight for a country they loved, and there was nothing subhuman about them.
Which is ironic since the Japanese were just as steeped in racism as the Nazis.Japan was also upset with the Treaty of Versailles. They were "at the table" but were left of of the major discussions.
"The Japanese delegation had two major goals for the Versailles peace talks. First, it wanted to establish clear control of the German colonial possessions in China that Japan had occupied during the war. Second, it wanted to be recognized as a nation equal with the other Western victors of the war. This latter goal included formal recognition of racial equality. Japan formally proposed to include a racial equality clause in the charter of the League of Nations, the international peacekeeping organization that was a major proposal of the peace negotiations. The Treaty of Versailles guaranteed Japan control of the previously German territories in China. However, the European Allies rejected the racial equality clause. This rejection planted the seeds for tension to grow between Japan and the leading Western powers. Eventually, it would lead to the Japanese government’s evolution from cooperation with the West."
Soooo much common sense...it seems such an easy concept to grasp...and yet they just refuse to...Value yourself first and foremost. Right. Thinking your value is in other people wanting to see all or most of you, or even the trend of showing that because you need to prove you don’t care that you’re not the ideal, will not make you value yourself even if it seems to for a while.
