that's awesome. Good memories. Not quite as cool but used to go to Bristol Boxing events, saw Butterbean fight. And Eastman Invitational in JC. There were a bunch of big names...I
swear I saw Willie Gault and Bo Jackson run in that event. Granted fhat was only 35 years ago.
I was there the night Lawler "piledrived" Andy Kaufman.................That was a wild night.....I was Twelve:oops:

SIAP but hard to pull against these OU players and this mindset. Wish more younger athletes could grasp this.

It's a great message. But, what's interesting is that I just read an article about social media criticism of their antics/celebrations on the field. They are saying it's a double standard because they are women. Yet, our men's team was roasted last year, so it's not exactly a double standard. The UT men's baseball team received the brunt of it first.

I am fine with being joyous and celebrating, but I thought the spiked bat after a walk was a bit much.

...only the English. They race double-decker buses and chase wheels of cheese down a huge hill. They're obviously really lacking for quality entertainment over there.
The brits aren't lacking for entertainment. To fact, I believe that was a Monty Python skit, which was wildly entertaining British entertainment.

I actually haven’t been able to catch any of their games (not that I had much of a desire to watch OU athletics) but wasn’t aware of their antics. Shame if their actions contradict their words.

I don't see how that helps the argument that our out of conference schedule this year is better than Georgia's out of conference schedule this year then.

Our OOC schedule is Virginia (Nashville), Austin Peay, UTSA and UConn
UGA's OOC schedule is @Georgia Tech, UT Martin, Ball State, and UAB

The main difference is we play Virginia in Nashville and they play Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I would agree with you that historically, Georgia Tech is a better program than Virginia but in modern times they are both pretty much also-ran ACC programs, neither of whom, year to year, is a lot better than the other.
Ok. Doofus Dooley played at UVA. (For the kill!!)

Think about being a freshman at a MAC school and not getting your $500 dollars and to be in a video game because it wasn't enough for people already getting hundreds of thousands in NIL.
Or think about being a freshman at a MAC school and getting $500 when the game your likeness will be in will make millions.

You're talking to a guy that put real $ on him to win the Heisman.
Well, that was a weird, circuitous argument.

"Why doesn't Miltton get the respect in comparison to other highlyrated QBs?"
"Pump the brakes on comparing Milton favorably to the other highly rated QBs."
"You show him some respect."
"I actually bet money that he'll beat out the other highly rated QBs."

Do people just like the sound of their keys being clicked around here?

This seems like too much of a response to 1 sentence. I think the op said something about the "disrespect" to Milton. Was just pointing out that he's look like garbo more than he's looked like he did against Clemson, so I don't think it's inappropriate to not have Milton ranked anywhere near the top of QB lists. I never said he sucked and guy said to pump the brakes on my milton sux train. So I said my last response, which provides evidence that I think Milton is very good but I understand how people who don't have my orange glasses wouldn't think much of him.

I’m trying to figure out why they have been calling all of Ben Joyce’s pitches Sinkers….. because they don’t Sink…

If anything it’s the Mystical Rising Fastball. Due to the rotation and speed the ball is thrown with I think that’s what it should be classified as. A Rising Fastball.
isnt that just a 4 seamer?

Been this way since the beginning of time. Don't think there has ever been a generation that agrees with the generations before them or after them haha
A lot of people have glossed over the brewing teenage rebellion of the late 50s and hardcore counter-culture of the late 60's/early 70's in their memories because the present always has to be worse than the past.
The differences between generations was stark. Harder to reconcile, in a lot of ways, than today's divide.

The roaring 20's was another major cultural disruption when our boys returned from the killing fields of France with the idea to live everything to the fullest, because they saw so much death and the daily ruin of their friends. The older generations were appalled at the live-for-the-moment ethos and lack of reverence for the way things had always been.

How much of what we all think of the young is based on the extremes from social media? I expect a lot.
I teach at a pre-K - 8th school. I roll my eyes at the middle schoolers because they think social media personalities are a reflection of real life.

I talk to many middle-age/old age people that think the same thing when they rant about younger people these days.
Reality is usually somewhere in the middle.

I think the Silent Generation raised Gen X
Boomers raised Millennials
Gen X raised Gen Z
the Millennials are raising what they are calling "Generation Alpha"

The obsession with categorizing people by generation is pretty stupid though.

In some ways, I identify way more with Gen X. In other ways, I'm squarely a Millennial.

If you use the categorization to identify "if you EXPEREIENCED this event or phenomena, you are [Generation whatever]" then it's fairly accurate for most.

The problem is that people use it like a personality test. "If you act/say this negative attribute/attitude, you are [Generation whatever]"

This is how it is commonly defined:

I was about 16 when Mtv and media were celebrating the 20th anniversary of Summer of Love and then Woodstock later. I was bumfuzzled to find out neither of my parents were hippies.
TV made me think all young people in the late 60s were hippies.
I think many older people paint with too wide a brush about Millennials and younger generations.

Great point that the extremes are vocal and the majority are generally pretty moderate and silent.

The broad brush goes both ways.
