Yeah their coach has been there quite awhile. Won a championship and goes to Omaha a solid amount

In 20 years under Brian O’Connor Virginia is 839-353-2 6 Omaha Trips, 2 National championship appearances and 1 championship. One of the better coaches in baseball IMO

If we’re patient enough Vitello will have a similar trajectory. O’Connor started off winning games and making tournaments. Wasn’t until later on the Omaha trips and Finals appearances came. With upgraded facilities and Vitello’s recruiting abilities even without them I have no doubt Tennessee will keep advancing

They've been talking the talk for what....a couple of years now? Color me disappointed with the progress or lack thereof. Looks like White is in no hurry on the LNS upgrades.

That's just false. They've made upgrades to the stadium and facilities every offseason White has been there. They have a new first-class locker room and offices, the removed almost all of the bleachers and added stadium seats, they've increased seating capacity, and they've done a bunch of small things.

They've always been forthcoming that it's a multiyear piece-by-piece deal. Vitello has been adamant that he doesn't want practice time taken away because of construction and he doesn't want to have to play at a different ballpark for a substantial period.

Plus its a challenging site and there's a lot of red tape the university has to go through before they can even break ground on any construction project. Sometimes ths buildings going up now were conceived a decade ago, but they have to check all the boxes with every alphabet agency and jurisdiction possible and follow the state-req. bidding processes for hiring every step of the way (design, demo, site prep, construction, etc). Its exhausting and would make most want to pull their hair out. Athletics usually gets their stuff fast-tracked, but it's still not "fast".

That has NOTHING to do with Danny White. He'd have it built yesterday if he could. He hands that over to facilities services and administration - his office just funds and has say in design and planning.
