I hiked 8 miles in Yosemite last year with 6 inches of snow on the ground. One of the most beautiful hikes ive done it was also one of the hardest hikes i have done.Longest day hike I've done was probably Indian Flats Falls. Went when it had snowed about 2 inches in Knoxville, but up there was about 5. Could easily drive in to the trailhead and the temperature was about 55 by the time I got there.
Let's talk Tennessee defense. They finished 44th in the country in points per game last season. Was that good enough? Well it wasn't good enough to do everything they wanted to do last season. Let's be real, their offense was good enough to overcome that.
How good do they need to be on defense?
This is one of those situations where they don't need to be a top 10 unit. They're gonna score enough. They were 44th last year, so I would focus on becoming a top 25 unit. You can always have higher aspirations, you want to work to a standard.
If they are, let's say, number 20 on defense, they are good enough to compete for a playoff spot and a national title. That's what we'll be watching for in Knoxville.
More conversations from the off-season, with one month left to fall camp:
Josh Pate of Late Kick (247):
Nothing groundbreaking here but I'll never get tired of hearing about the tweaks or minor improvements we need to make to reach a national championship. After the drought we had, I'll never get tired of being in the conversation again.
It’s truly unbelievable.Feeling all the emotions right now.
I've went back and watched the last minute of Alabama 100 times, but never went back and watched the whole thing play for play. Just did and WOW. It was like reliving that game all over again. The fantastic start, the Bama comeback, Hyatt for 80 yards, then the scoop and score and feeling of inevitability...then the miss, and the wobbler!
Absolutely buzzing right now. What a game
