More off-season conversations to review as we get closer to August...
Cover 3 podcast, 247/CBS:
Chip: with Richardson (and Levis) going high in the NFL draft based purely on traits, does that mean Tennessee QB Joe Milton could be a top 10 pick?
Tom: he could be. It's gonna depend on what happens next year with that QB class. Right now you're looking at Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, these are guys everyone is considering to be top QBs in the draft next year: What teams will be in the market for a QB next year? There are a lot of variables. But yeah, if you look at the traits and if Joe Milton plays well for Tennessee, that arm is rare. We saw it with Josh Allen. When Allen was at Wyoming he had a cannon arm and accuracy issues. Joe Milton is a guy with a cannon arm and accuracy issues. NFL teams have done a better job tinkering with guys and fixing it. I think Josh Allen is an exception to the rule, but they are drafting guys based on projects and traits and body types. It's not just the most polished guy that's gonna go early, teams will take chances on guys because if you hit - bang Super Bowl.
Danny: he's 6'5 245, hes got an arm, they're gonna fall in love with him. It's totally feasible. I have to see it to believe it. And yeah, it depends on what teams are in the market. You have Joe milton, but two other solid candidates to go 1 and 2 with Williams and Maye. And QB gets overdrafted, they look for the upside. Can he stay healthy?
Nothing new here but when was the last time we had a Vols QB with top-10 draft hype going into the season?
