GoodCity of JC, at least in my neighborhood - as of last two years - strictly enforcing the noise ordinance. Aggressively.
Personal fireworks prohibited in Johnson City, ordinance to be enforced

I understand both sides. I like the fireworks, but this non-stop barrage for a week and half before and after the 4th is too much. I was hoping people had decided on a single day to light. . . kinda like people informally pick a day to trick-or-treat on, if Halloween is midweek.
Does your doctor know that for all the essential proteins, you have to eat egg yolk too?
There’s nutrients in the egg yolk.
The amount of cholesterol in the yolk is overblown as far as the way it affects you.
Case in point: my family has a significant familial hypercholerolemia issue.
When my cholesterol went up at age 37, I lost weight, ate all “the right foods” and went nuts on cardio. Guess what, my cholesterol continued to rise because it was a genetic issue. I have been on atorvastatin ever since. At 60, my cholesterol and triglycerides are normal. My cardiac stress tests are all normal including a 0 cardiac calcium score. I have come to terms with the medicine. I have an extremely high family history of heart attacks. I also take 3 omega 3 fish oil capsules daily. That also has helped raise my HDL.
One theory that I would ask your doctor is how much nutrition was taught at their med school? Many schools only teach nutrition for 1-2 weeks.
I took nutrition at Tennessee. My med school taught it as an entire class. It was taught by the Desn of the basic science division, so we took it very seriously, especially since he wrote our first recommendation letters.
You are looking at it wrong. . . should trick-or-treat every night for a week before and after Halloween. Christmas should be that way too. . . maybe just before Christmas day, since New Years is so close. Maybe just give a gift each day for like 12 days before Christmas. . .Never thought about applying this model to other holidays. We should decorate for Christmas, like a month early and see how these fireworks bastages like that. Maybe we can convince local radio stations and stores to bombard them with nothing but Christmas songs from November through New Years. Now we are thinking!
I liked Limon, but we had to evacuate in the middle of the night because of an ongoing armed robbery of the neighboring resort (and we weren't even at a fancy resort like that one). The only place I didnt get to go was the Pacific coast which is more affluent apparently.Costa Rica is awesome. Amazing reserves. Limon province is sketchy for the most part.
Snakes (and lizards) have an impressive nervous system that continues to fire after death. For example, if you break the tail off a skink it will continue to thrash for a minute or two. Even more vigorously in reaction to being touched. This is an anti-predation adaptation, but it's kinda what you see here. The nervous system doesn't stop working after being severed (unlike humans where you go paralyzed when the connection with the brain is severed). What's scary about concrete?
Really though, how did it's body react to the feeling of a bite with its head gone?
Its a cool area and great remote beaches. But it's the most dangerous province of CRC. We were warned before we went and didnt think much of it because we'd be in a group but the second day we had to evacuate when a group of armed locals (and maybe Panamanians) invaded and robbed Americans in the neighboring resort. Limon City has the highest unemployment rate, highest organized crime, and its like the number 1 port city in the Caribbean for drug trafficking. Why avoid Limon? That's a big swath of beach close to the airport that you're saying to avoid lol
I had the opportunity to represent our great state last week at a national conference. Being seated alphabetically, I was between South Dakota and Texas. Part of introductions was to share who your favorite team is. I gave the obvious answer.Texans aren’t so bad after educated by a Tennessean. When you put them in their place, they let the true Alpha rule
Most of them have no idea that without the Tennesseans that Texas really would have become part of Mexico. General Santa Ana was kicking their asses until the Volunteers made the trip.
It’s funny to watch their smug faces turn from smug superiority to confused subservience when I educate them.
My kids will even tell them to just surrender because I never lose this educational reckoning.
How was Hooters?I had the opportunity to represent our great state last week at a national conference. Being seated alphabetically, I was between South Dakota and Texas. Part of introductions was to share who your favorite team is. I gave the obvious answer.
Next, the Texas guy said they were the real UT. Game on.
In break he mentioned something again, to which I replied…
“If it weren’t for Tennessee Volunteers, you’d be another state in Mexico. You needed us to beat Santa Ana.”
He had no response.
Here’s my seat at the table by the way:

For a meat eater pork seems like a weird thing to avoid. It is better for the environment and leaner that beef and the meat yield per animal that has to be killed is 40x that of chicken.I'm healthy as a horse. And I get to watch cute piggies on Instagram without feeling guilty.

Also, it is cheap and delicious and you can get those same benefits by killing invasive wild ones all over America.
No to all. Our neighbors have been blowing them off for the past three or four nights already and our dog can't stand storms or fireworks. We give him CBD treats and they help some but we hate the week leading up to the 4th of July and even a few days after cause everyone spends their kids college funds on fireworks to make pretty boom booms. It use to be one night and it was over. Now it is at least a week and a half of having to have a stressed out dog.
Sorry for the vent.
