I am not particularly connected to anyone on the baseball staff, but the buzz in the AD is Amick is coming here. He's hammering out NIL outside university purview, but the word is that this is going well too. Everything is a little slow given the holiday week, but he could announce today if things get finished on that front. If not, I assume he would not announce tomorrow (conjecture on my part). Galanie has told the staff he's coming to play, and it will take a meaningful upside surprise to change that.
Puke-in-Bama-face-legends!!!!Looking back at that 2021 class... two things:
1. Woof
2. Hype wasn't shy about setting his standard and getting rid of the guys that didn't fit his culture or meet his standard.
Of that 2021 HS/JUCO class:
12 were dismissed or transferred. Only 4 of those 12 ended up at P5 schools (Merrill, Evans, McNeill, Coby - 2 of those transferred this offseason). Meaning 8 players ended up at Jucos or G5 schools (some <G5).
1 was drafted - Byron Young
4 are still on the roster - DeShawn Rucker, Christian Charles, Jaylen Wright, and Jeremiah Crawford. Crawford was the lowest rated player in the class (also why y'all need to stop pooping on the low 3*s we pick up - they can be puke-in-Bama's-face legends)
Of the transfer class, which Hype had more control of:
3 Dismissed/Transferred - Dajon Terry, Willie Mohan, Juwan Mitchell
4 Graduated/Drafted - McGrath, Hooker, Tremblay, Payton
3 On roster - Joe Milton, Kamal Hadden, Brandon Turnage
That's some MAJOR attrition, but we are that much closer to having ALL Heupel recruits. I'm not sure of the 4 HS recruits which were retained in the class and which Heupel brought in after he was hired.
This is what I think: Crawford - H (committed on signing day), Wright - Pruitt, Charles - Pruitt, Rucker - Pruitt. Byron Young was a Heupel recruit.
I went and read some. I think this sums it up! And wow there was a lot to of unknowns in there! That was a fun read. There were a few positive folks, @Bassmaster_Vol , @MoCo_Vol , @SweetasSoda , @Geaux_Vols and a very positive post from @Ulysees E. McGill
How do you score 42-43 points a game over three years (top 2, 2 and 5 out of 130 teams) and not "develop" players that were not highly ranked? That sounds like pretty good development to me Maybe on defense? I could understand that criticism. With a really good defense they probably only lose 2-3 games the last three years..
He will have to recruit better, and put together a great defensive staff.

Some of them are “end of the world” posts!I went back to see what I posted, and…woof:
“I just can’t fathom how a guy with DW’s resume and cache has been so off the mark with this hire. I mean, we should have never even entertained Sonny Dykes, no matter what shape the program was in.
Franklin? I mean he’s a good coach, but that’s your 8 mil, go for broke, moon shot? Even if he had said yes, would have been a very polarizing hire.
Heupel? That’s not even the best choice out of your previous hires!
The only thing that makes sense is TE. I think he would be risky, but that guy at least gives you a chance.
Maybe we’ll wake up tomorrow to better news. Just so disappointed.”
That might be my magnum opus of wrong.
