Not tooting my own horn, because it was perfectly obvious, but I saw this coming with the onset of NIL. If you afford young men fancy high-powered cars, they will drive fast. I drove fast and I didn't even own a high-powered car at that age. In fact, between cars and motorcycles I'm lucky I survived my teens.

I'm certain this problem is not isolated to Athens, just more visible there right now, but nevertheless Kirby must take strong measures to bring it under control. It won't stop unless we genetically modify the risk taking genes in young males, but the frequency of egregious violations can and should be sharply reduced one way or another.

Man, players were getting fast cars long before NIL. Ever heard of Eric Dickerson? Every football player on campus in the 90s was driving a nice car.
It’s getting bad in Athens and there’s no point coming here to desperately try to defend it.

I know of 1 UT player in the mid 90's who suddenly had a nice new truck after signing. . . but his parents could've easily bought it.

I didn't realize I tried to defend it. I said it's an age old phenomenon in young males and it's happening everywhere because it always has. A few years ago, UGA had players getting tickets for making illegal turns and driving recklessly on their mopeds. NIL just made the fast cars more accessible to college athletes. I'm sure Eric Dickerson drove fast too.

before I pay $400 for a pontoon rental do yall know anyone that would charter a trip ?

A charter would probably cost not much less, and you’d have to deal with some random driving you around.

Wife and I are members of Freedom Boat Club. Basically you pay a few grand intro fee then about 400 a month but can get boats pretty much anywhere. We use it a lot. But we’ve paid to rent boats in Destin and Michigan etc. They usually run north of 500 so to be able to get one for 400 seems like a good deal.

If it’s something you want to do often, look into a boat club like freedom. They have places all over the east coast and probably west coast too. We’ve gone to Michigan, Florida, myrtle etc and get boats. Pretty awesome

Wish I still had my cruiser, I'd let y'all use it for the weekend.

Really though, you'd probably be better off renting it and being captain, than having to go by a charter schedule.
I really appreciate that. Just wanted to know if there was a fellow vols fan around that could show us the ropes and keep us off the rocks
