If a few of these very close recruiting decisions don't go our way right now, no one expects them to be final. There are factors in play that could become less of a factor down the stretch. Recruits want to be part of the culture and what UT is building. They may be getting pressure from elsewhere, but few are shutting the door. The genuine closeness of the coaches and players across programs and the top-down buy-in to compete for championships in all programs means more than people think. Everything School is resonating.
And if we dont hit on all we will continue to be a top transfer destination

By the way, do you know what the hold up is on our NCAA ruling? I expected that to be in by this time last month.

I always heard July, unless they ruled right away - which no one expected. UT liked the way the hearing went and how it ended, but that means nothing with an organization as inconsistent and unfocused as the NCAA.

How much of a factor is the NCAA stuff still not being resolved having? Are other teams still using it against us?

I think the answer to his last question is "character" but idk.

It was pretty cool to see The Rock shout out Inky a few months ago. Easy to see why he's a great motivational speaker. And I really tire of those folks because few ever walked the walk and just wanted to be a "get rich quick" person...because they could never make a buck on their own. But Inky has walked the walk. Enjoy his stuff.

We went to Athens/Santorini...now the wife wants to move.
Tough to beat. Though I thought the Oia thing was a tad overrated, sooo many people. But rest of Santorini, cliffside winery, and red beaches were dope.

Mykonos was the absolute best. Easily walkable from one end to the other. Great nightlife and restaurants seaside. World class music in the right months.

We had a suite with a hot tub overlooking the sea and it was a measly 200 a night iirc. Breakfast served right to our door poolside each morning for nothing more than a tip. And they all used whatsapp, so no need to even call. Great service everywhere and friendly people.

Was also impressed with their local Uber version. AgeanTaxi iirc. It would clock it down to the second and boom there was your arrival.

Oh and Greece has lots of cats. Every breakfast we'd have friendly cats come hang around. Not strays, very well kept, but street roamers. They were freakin awesome. I've heard Turkey/Istanbul has even more and similarly very friendly people. Unfortunately their govt sort of sucks atm. We couldn't even leave the Istanbul airport when we laid over.

Agreed. The wife and I just got back from a Greek island cruise and Mykonos was our favorite by far. Santorini is WAY too crowded and over saturated with tourist shops and so on.

We're being negative recruited by the usual suspects. That won't stop after the NCAA is done. It'll always be something. But some of their go-to pitches-- instability, poor leadership, toxic culture, no money, can't win, not elite-- have little credibility these days. They'll have to up their creativity because the tremendous inter- and intra-program culture, player support and facilities upgrades are hitting on all cylinders right now. Visible leadership and the coaches coming together to help all programs in everything, including recruiting, is paying off.

Did you ever take your boat trip? I'm more behind than Doc.
Yes, we did. Had a good time but we got shortchanged on our boat. Chartered a 45' Nautitech Power cat and ended up with a 42' Sail cat. This made it impossible to do our planned route. Charter company was terrible and I would never use them again. I would like to do the trip again but it will be a while. Bahamas are truly beautiful and one of my favorite places on earth. The water in the Bahamas is special.

I'd love to go back to Greece. In Santorini, we stayed in the Kamari area (flatter land and close to the beach). So many restaurants right along the beach with lots of outdoor seating. Loved it. I was scared away from Mykonos as many described it negatively (I guess they were wrong). And oh Athens. I just loved the history including the Olympic stadium and of course, the Acropolis. And, Mount Lycabettus gave us amazing views....
