We're being negative recruited by the usual suspects. That won't stop after the NCAA is done. It'll always be something. But some of their go-to pitches-- instability, poor leadership, toxic culture, no money, can't win, not elite-- have little credibility these days. They'll have to up their creativity because the tremendous inter- and intra-program culture, player support and facilities upgrades are hitting on all cylinders right now. Visible leadership and the coaches coming together to help all programs in everything, including recruiting, is paying off.

It’s a good time to be a Vol. Beautiful, ain’t it?

I'd love to go back to Greece. In Santorini, we stayed in the Kamari area (flatter land and close to the beach). So many restaurants right along the beach with lots of outdoor seating. Loved it. I was scared away from Mykonos as many described it negatively (I guess they were wrong). And oh Athens. I just loved the history including the Olympic stadium and of course, the Acropolis. And, Mount Lycabettus gave us amazing views....
We stayed nearby you in Agios Georgios just south. We walked up to Kamari and loved the row of beach restaurants and layouts.

Agree on Athens...walking into downtown...completely unaware...and then BOOM...in the middle of a bustling modern city laid some of the greatest artifacts of human history all atop a hill. It was wild.

I've hardly done much international traveling and know I should try other places, by my god our stay in Mykonos alone would take me back there in a heartbeat. And yeah...it may be romanticized to some degree in my head because it was our honeymoon and the second we hit our balcony overlooking the sea we started knockin boots right there outside...we were so cool back then 😅🤣

Yes, we did. Had a good time but we got shortchanged on our boat. Chartered a 45' Nautitech Power cat and ended up with a 42' Sail cat. This made it impossible to do our planned route. Charter company was terrible and I would never use them again. I would like to do the trip again but it will be a while. Bahamas are truly beautiful and one of my favorite places on earth. The water in the Bahamas is special.

How disappointing! But a good reason to go for an encore, sooner rather than later. We've always enjoyed the Bahamas, but for the most part, have stuck to the land. Your idea sounds better.

There's a shipping channel from Loudoun to Neyland. I wouldn't go past the Forks unless you're in a small boat. Just keep it between the bouys.
How far on the water is it from Concord marina to Neyland? In west tn we have sandy beaches to pull over and hangout, is there anything like that?

Guessing ….. 15-20 miles. I can do it in 20-25 in my bass boat. 1 hour in a pontoon.

Checked….it’s 30 miles. No sandy beaches except at the Sailboat Club @ Concord. Around Duncan’s Marina (mouth of Little River) there are places where people hang out on shallow submitted islands. You will see the boats there (depending on season).

Hope this helps.

What the hell is actually going on at Georgia? Is there a lead foot disease circulating through Athens?

Not tooting my own horn, because it was perfectly obvious, but I saw this coming with the onset of NIL. If you afford young men fancy high-powered cars, they will drive fast. I drove fast and I didn't even own a high-powered car at that age. In fact, between cars and motorcycles I'm lucky I survived my teens.

I'm certain this problem is not isolated to Athens, just more visible there right now, but nevertheless Kirby must take strong measures to bring it under control. It won't stop unless we genetically modify the risk taking genes in young males, but the frequency of egregious violations can and should be sharply reduced one way or another.

If you genetically modify the risk taking gene you'll have some pretty unexciting football to watch fwiw.

Atlanta area has had a serious problem with street racing. It's fairly well known, and its not recent. Isaiah Wilson, the infamous biggest bust in the modern era, was busted for doing burnouts and racing through downtown Nashville when he was still being paid by (I hesitate to say "playing for") the Titans. Zero chance he started that after draft night. Not a ton of other programs are having this issue at this level. Kirby has brought in multiple speakers to address the team on speeding and street racing because of it.

And I'm not saying this to dog on Georgia (pun intended). Its a serious issue that goes beyond the sport and rivalries. You could say, "Eventually one of these kids is going to get killed" but that's already happened... and it hasn't stopped the recklessness.

No beaches per se. Any exposed areas will probably be pretty muddy. East TN lakes are deeper. Pretty much stay in the boat or jump in with a life jacket. We used to either hang out on the boat the whole time or tube/ski.
