I love looking at vintage photos of baseball. Especially night games. Lighting was different and the smoke from the stands.........just plain cool.

Two players that I wish I could go back in time and see in person............Ruth and Paige.

Pete Reiser and Shoeless Joe are the two guys I would probably want to see the most.

It is a travesty that Satchel Paige did not get to pitch in the majors until he was 42. I just looked up his stats and he went 12-10 with a 3.07 ERA with 10 saves for the St. Louis Browns in 1952 when he was 46 years old.

I met him and got his autograph…. Seemed to be an amazing person and player.

Why those midwestern schools do such homoerotic and sexually abusive stuff??? Northwestern, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State have all been embroiled in sex abuse lawsuits in recent memory... any others? How many SEC or ACC schools have been?

Not talking about players specifically but as a pervasive issue within a program in the facility. The Baylor thing could qualify - but everything else I can think of has been Big 10

The B1G invariably tends to have more white players. Linkage to military families and culture, similar to white fraternities. Where temporary hazing is a big part. It is a cultural issue that isn't as present in SEC territory, black culture, though we have our own versions having gone to HS in Knoxville...there was a "beatdown day" for freshman...but not ongoing hazing. Graduating black students on freshman black students. It wasn't that serious or meant to harm, similar to hazing, but still ridiculous. But not as tortuous or ongoing as I often hear about hazing culture. Tifwiw


Now, Penn St is just its own thing. Similar to the Kitna kid at Florida. And that OL that played for us that ended up a pedo.

I've heard this plenty from my older relatives. A code of silence. Neighbor beating his wife? That's their family issues.

Not saying we have to be all nosey, but a certain amount of care for those that are lower in the power structure is reasonable. Otherwise we end up back at, "first they came for the ____" story.

To pretend like we had it right in the freakin 50s or 60s or 70s is hilarious. I heard on the radio yesterday the retelling of Bama's first black player after the Bama-USC game...then they mentioned the date...it was freakin 1971. Dear god. Just 50 years ago. Yeah, they had it right alright...

I would guess it is like everything else…. Some of the changes are positive and some of the changes are negative.

I almost took a job earlier this year where my son would have been attending catfish hunters old school that the baseball field is named after him.

Im curious to see how the offense changes this year with Milton at the helm. Last year with Hooker we did a lot of speed and read options, but I dont see us being able to to that with Milton as he is not as mobile or agile as Hooker. I wonder if instead of the options we turn to more screens and quick passes to help set up the deep ball, and instead of throwing it 25-30 times a game with Hooker we throw it 35-40 with Milton, but the +10 difference in pass attempts is quick passes instead of the options with Hooker

It does not sound good for him. They have been investigating for months. I am not sure much more is going to come out, but if it is more, it probably will be worse for Fitzgerald.

Franklin at Penn State will prolly take him as an assistant. But only if it comes to light that actual gang rape was involved. We were there last year for a meeting and saw them finalizing it, adjusting panels. An Uber driver told us how wild it is: they had previously tested it, iirc. I think he said it appeared as one of those photos of earth from space. Or maybe he was describing photos from the plans.
