I finished "Supernova in the East" last week and now I'm about halfway through "Blueprint for Armageddon"...Carlin does great work.
Do you listen on Spotify? Seems like there are a lot more episodes elsewhere but I only see the 10 or so (which will take forever to get through lol)

Also, I’d highly recommend the book or audio of Empire of the Summer Moon to any of you guys and gals. Amazing telling of the Comanche and Texan ordeal.

It is part of the plot to keep everything shut down during the next Rona Winter surge.

If yours only lasts 15 minutes then I am jealous. It’s happened twice over the past 2 days for a total of 3 and a 1/2 hours. Just short of 2 hours each time. 1st time was while my daughter was sleeping and her room got down to 54 degrees.
How does this save electricity? As soon as it's turned back on, every building is gonna be working overtime trying to get back up to set temp.

It is here to stay, that is for sure. You can either deal with it as it comes or obsess about it and t let it control your entire life. If the shots help keep the severity down for certain people then they should feel free to get them. However, if people think getting the shots will keep them from getting covid they are sorely mistaken. On fact, vaccine is probably the wrong word to use for the shot. Maybe covid symptom reduction shot would be more appropriate.

The math works, when you dive into the details. It doesn't take a house long to get up to temp. It's all the other drains the house is using where the savings comes in. Lights, appliances, TV, computers, etc... The slightly increased usage of the furnace (only the electric ones, the gas ones don't use much electricity) doesn't come close to offsetting the savings from blacking out the rest of the house.

Our power went out around 8:15 this morning and triggered the smoke alarms. We were in bed had been watching the news and both dozed back off. I jumped up like a wild man and started running around the house waking up my teenage sons and looking for smoke or a fire. A warning call/text/notification would have definitely been appreciated.

Not cool TVA 😡

I will give Sevier County credit. They are sending texts to announce every round. They are helpful.
