On July 18, 1910, Franklin Pierce Adams immortalized the infield trio of Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers and Frank Chance in a poem titled "Baseball's Sad Lexicon." A week before, Pierce had happily won a bet that the Chicago Cubs would beat the New York Giants. When he turned in his weekly article to the New York Evening Mail, the paper told him he was eight lines short. Remembering a double play he had seen from the game, Pierce added the following:

These are the saddest of possible words:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double --
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."

Shortstop Tinker, second baseman Evers, and first baseman Chance were all members of the 1907 and 1908 world champion Chicago Cubs. They were also members of the 1906 team that won a record 116 games. Thanks to the poetics of Adams, the double play combination of "Tinker to Evers to Chance" became a household requiem.
In 1946, all three were elected to the Hall of Fame. Lately, this has been a controversial selection because statistically their numbers both offensively and defensively were average at best. All three were legitimate stars back in the day, but to how far the poem influenced the voting is anyone's guess -- some believe that if not for Adams' poem, all three would be on the outside of the Hall of Fame.

I absolutely love Brevard. I go fish the Davidson from time to time and eat at whatever food truck is at The Hub that particular day.
Is the hub that 'biker bar' near the turn off to the park?

Buddy of mine and I discussed putting one of those near the Tweetsie. He then helped a guy, actually do that very thing. enter - Local Motion Cyclery | Johnson City, TN | Bike Shop & Rentals

Owner just opened Crankys Pump'n'Pints - has a pump track and a little deck to chill and have a beer. Tweetsie has two options, Riverside Taphouse and Crankys.

Well I'm a diehard Cowboys fan and Dak making what he makes is ridiculous also,he better perform this year that defense should be near the top .also they acquired Branding Cooks to complement CeeDee so Dak has no excuses left.
Right now? Dak’s contract is a bargain…it’s no albatross. And as a Bears fan who is hoping that Justin Fields ends up being the first legit franchise QB in his lifetime? Better hope you have someone lined up first! The Cowboys have been extremely fortunate throughout their history, but it took a moment after Troy. Quincy Carter to Chad Hutchinson to Drew Henson before Testaverde and Bledsoe got you to Tony Romo? That wasn’t fun.

"They have no taste in comedy films. They must be destroyed."
Now this is a completely different genre of comedy (Austen), but I wonder if you liked Wilt Stillman's Love and Friendship. One of those chicks is out of control. It's more amusement mixed with cringes, but the cringes crescendo to become pretty funny.

Yea I loved Troy funny thing listening to Micheal Irvin talking about Troy. Troy seems to be a laid back guy but Micheal said he was a perfectionist who got up in your stuff when you messed up!!!!
