Hmm…I do the science thing for a living and I can muddy the waters here because there is no such thing as irrefutable empirical evidence. Science is a methodologically constrained means to constantly update and refine our limited and provisional understanding of the material manifestation of phenomena, not a means to final truth.

Now back to football…would it be awesome if we landed Nwaneri? Aren’t we stoked about our new found depth on defense? Is local media overblowing the o-line concerns? Will Milton win the Heisman?
This reminds me of an Astronomy class in college I took 30 years or so ago. The professor was presenting a lot of info that seemed to contradict secular science's view of creation as opposed to the Biblical view.

So, silly me, I asked him why they refuse to accept the Biblical view. His answer was pretty much what you just said (but in simpler words). Basically, if they accept it as fact, they have no more truth to explore.

Josh Gibson would like to have a say in this. Ruth was playing a bunch of guys that wouldn't be anything more than a high school pitcher back then. I know, I know it's controversial BUT it's also true.
That’s a reduction of some GREAT players in that era.

By the same token Ruth was an out of shape mess. Imagine what he'd have been like with actual conditioning and strength coaching? When all is said and done it evens out.

Exactly! Last year I had a family reunion(My aunt, who is a big Tennessee fan, thought it was okay since TN played on Thursday. What? The first day of college football in months???)…..wedding shower…..a wedding (AL game…I did not feel good. I didn’t. I was a nervous wreck.)……..birthday party (grandson’s. UTM. Had to miss the 2nd half.)……and then there were all the football games to see my granddaughter cheer (an hour away! And she didn’t even enjoy it!).

The phone would have been off the rest of the season 😂😂 you were tapped out early and did your good deed for the year😩😭

100% true.

But even apples to apples....it's amazing.

I wish they had Josh Gibson's "official" records from "barnstorming" and "Negro Leagues"
It would be much more than 714................Just from stories I was told when I was a kid.....Legend/Lore...from some elderly people that saw Gibson play in his prime.....he was the best ever!

Haha. At least he was honest. Everything comes down to faith at the end of the day.

I guess Jerry Garcia had it right all along: Just keep truckin on…

Ivan Drago was a Russian. So, you're conceding defeat? Good idea.

or You're saying Im Rocky, and at which point ill still waffle stomp you.
I thought I'd respond to you in your native language of communist. That way there was no confusing the message. I waited 2 hours and consumed a massive amount of waffles, and you didn't show.

There was a time that Science thought bathing washed away the body's natural ability to fight off infection.

Knowledge has increased over time, yet, there are still avenues to be explored. I read once that Humans use less than 20% of their brain.

I hold that God gives us the information and knowledge at the time He truly wants us to have it. Like a child who the parents want to guide along but not be overbearing.

Science is a lens to help us view the World. To help humanity. 'Do not lean on your own understanding.'

Faith cannot be argued according to our knowledge. Nor was it meant to be. That's why its faith.

Took a tour of Fenway Park a few years ago, and they talked a lot about Babe and how he was decades ahead of his time. They passed around a baseball that would have been used in that era.

The cover was loose and it felt like it had been left in water for a week. They were pretty much using weighted balls back then, but nobody wants to talk about that..

Me and my brother was down thar, at 5.

you cannot remove what is known, empirically. That is called fact. There cannot be disassociation from that of which is inextricably factual. the word irrefutable works here.
Rationalists would disagree with empiricism.

And down the rabbit hole you'll fall into epistemology

When is the last time you ran? When is the last time you were in a full-on sprint?
There is a stand-up bit about this.

Basically mentioned their nephew taking off in a dead sprint for 20, 30 seconds...stopping for 5 and blasting off again. Talking about a 5 or 6 year old. It was so easy back then to sprint like it was nothing.

Then comparing it to the extraordinary exertion needed for an adult to do the same. It feels almost painful to do anything above a light yog 😅

I'd have some serious problems if I tried to stand up and jump into a dead sprint like I could when I was a kid, 😆
