When it comes to the greatest team ever, I'm always taking the 98 Vols! Never seen a team that was as destined to win it all as them. I don't care what team in history would be on the other sideline. That 98 team, and that defense especially, would find a way to win every single time even without the biggest weapon on offense.

I can only go by what I know, and what I know is they were 5 touchdowns better than the SEC, one dimensional or no... PAC 12, ACC, or no. One dimensional argument was also made back then, many times, didn't matter. They also beat 4 other top 10 teams that year by an avg score of 49-18.

We'll most definitely have to agree to disagree, that's cool...especially and emphatically on that team getting "destroyed" by anyone.
Recency Bias is definitely a thing.

Very good chance for the Florida game if they manage to beat Utah.

No top tier matchups that week, really.
I think Gators might beat them due to Utah QB situation. So kinda a fluke win like last year vs them. That would give them a top 15 win and presumably beat the cupcake afterwards too. Maybe notching them into the top 25 heading into Tennessee game. Tennessee should be top 10 after slaughtering the two cupcakes. Gameday in Gainesville likely in that scenario

Meh? Now, THAT'S funny, and absurd.

Back in those days, to me, roids were no different than paying players. Everyone was cheating in their own way...some better than others. Since it's the way of the world of college football, I've NEVER had a problem with cheating, as long as the playing field is even to do so. The reason I hate Saban so much. He not only unbalanced the playing field, he outright destroyed it. He's cheated with impunity, which was fine by me; however, no one else was allowed to do so, outside of a couple of other programs.
Nobody was doing roids to the industrial institutional level that the Cornroiders were...it was obvious just looking at them. They were no more talented than 10 other teams at any given time...they just juiced them all into superstars.

If you wanna give them a Bozo button for figuring out that you could take multiple walk-ons, add Steroids and POOF turn them into All-Americans...then that's your choice.

I think they were a well coached team that steroids made infinitely better....without them they were still a very good team imo, but not the bulldozer that their institutional steroid program MADE them.

Sure every team had guys on the juice...but NO other program institutionalized it's use in their S&C program like Nebraska did.

This is absurd.

If a "Bozo button" is back to back national championships, with a combined record of 25-0, with combined scores of 1,097 points scored and 336 points given up, I'm sure they'll gladly wear the red nose and honk for you.

Also, if you think those back-in-the-day Miami teams, or those back-in-the-day Oklahoma teams, or those FSU teams weren't on the tip of a needle, well...i'll just say, I disagree.

And he needs to be shoved off a mountain, with no witnesses (or ones that will tell). POS needs to put into a full butch Prison and let the inmates have fun with him until he dies. Too much?
And his victims were not just young women - very very young children also…

No it's not...what is absurd is not seeing what was ridiculously obvious.
Who didn't see it? Multiple people, including me, have rightly agreed with you about Nebraska and steroids. What's obvious, is that YOU didn't see it going on at other places.
