If they have a bad season are there any recruits of theirs we’d try to steal?
Plenty.

But current season results don't typically impact seniors in HS. They have long relationships built up and have always been sold on the future.

Even when we had bad seasons, unless our coach was fired, guys tended to stick.

Guess who has two thumbs and just fell through the ceiling looking to run an Ethernet wire?
I have a very good friend that just did that a couple of weeks ago. Only difference, he was running electrical wire to his eaves for exterior lighting. He fell 24' through his attic joist to the foyer below. Broke his hi/pelvis in 4 places, orbital bone, 4 ribs, and his wrist. Required surgery to his hip and wrist. Was in the Vanderbilt ICU for a week. He now in a rehab facility. Dr said when you fall over twice your height the prospects of survival are low. He fell 4x his height. He's lucky to be alive especially with no debilitating, long term injuries.

Oh my god… yeah, I had a leg sticking out of the ceiling and my lower back is torn up but that’s about it. It’s not hard to do if you’re not used to being up there

I want to give a call out to Rodney Garner. I’m astounded in what he has done in a short time in turning our DL into one of the best units in the country. I’m so glad that we have him back on Rocky Top. With a dominant DL, we’ll never be out of games, and it’ll relieve stress off of an average secondary. It makes our OL better too going against them in practice. I hope we continue to do whatever needs to be done to keep Coach Garner happy.
I was thinking about it this morning. Garner must really like how Heupel and staff handle their business. I’m not aware of any prior relationship, and Garner can go to many places he wants. It just so happened that he needed a job when Heupel got hired. Keep him here until he retires.

Fun story.. I went to QT this morning before the game and everyone was in their USC or Clemson attire. Obviously I was wearing a UT shirt. I made it 5 steps out of the car with my 9 month old daughter in tow before two teenage redneck USC fans told me to go **** myself. I said something back referencing their love for cocks that the modern woke crowd would cancel me for, and they just kept walking. No one will talk to me that way in front of my kid and me just take it. I’m sorry, I was ready to fight these 18-20 year olds in a gas station parking lot.

Anyways, they’re pissed. Think they’re seasons already in the crapper. A lot of the more delusional ones around here thought they could go 9-3/10-2 and finish second in the East. All that’s gone and they’re reevaluating. I’m sure they’ll think they’re going 8-4/9-3 by next Saturday. They’re too retarded to realize what they are. I envy that in a way. When we sucked balls like they do, we all were almost nihilistically realistic about it even with our traditions. They have none of that and still think they’re 10x better than they are. I hate them, more now than ever. When I was a kid I felt sorry for them, but they’re with the floridas, bamas and georgias for me now.

I understand you being upset but I just have to ask. If they were stupid enough to come at you, what were you going to do with your daughter in order to defend yourself? Just curious if you had someone else there with you.

Final thoughts from yesterday’s game:

1 - Milton efficient
Milton wasn’t perfect. There were probably four or five passes he would like to have back, but that’s not totally unexpected. No quarterback is perfect. The vast majority of Milton’s throws were on time and on target. He made plays with his legs and clearly played with confidence.

2 - Defensive line: deep and awesome
The defensive line was beyond dominant for the vast majority of the game. It was good to see Pearce make some plays. Tyler Baron got in on the action as well. ONL was disruptive in his debut. Just an all around terrific performance by this unit.

3 - Offensive line
The offensive line was surprisingly good yesterday. Virginia’s defensive line wasn’t very good, but for an offensive line with some question marks coming into the season, it was good to see them own the line of scrimmage.

4 - Special teams
Dee Williams is electrifying in the return game. He had multiple returns yesterday that he nearly took to the house. However, the rest of the special teams was spotty, largely due to nerves in my opinion. I expect this unit will improve significantly from week one to week two.

5 - Wide Receivers
This unit wasn’t “bad”, but they were a little underwhelming. Keyton’s drop is the first mishap to come to mind, but it also seemed as if this unit wasn’t getting the separation we saw Tillman and Hyatt get over the last couple of seasons. I’m not concerned long term about this unit, though. The talent is there. Think this game will serve as a bit of a wake up call for them.

6 - Next up
APSU is the final tune up before going down to the Swamp. Mainly just want to get out of the AP game healthy and see a sharper performance from special teams and receivers. You can bet your bottom dollar we will get Florida’s best shot, so it’s important to go in there confident and playing razor sharp football so that we can deflate the home crowd from the outset.

Go Vols!

I was kind of thinking that having your daughter in-tow is the best time to be the bigger man and show maturity to not stopp to their level and show your daughter your bad side, much less possibly get her involved in a physical altercation if you provoke two lowlifes. But... not my monkeys or circus.
