You could tell the whole year flashed in front of him, starting with what he thought was about to be his first Hyatt-like play of the season. Just at the last second he lost focus and tried to spin his wheels before he secured it.

Who’s got any? My wife’s niece had her wedding yesterday early evening so we were hosting out of town family all weekend (through today also) so I wasn’t able to soak in the game like I wanted to. It was mostly on as background noise and I could watch it in bits.

How did the OL do overall? Did Ollie get benched for Davis? How was Kueric? Which transfer played the best - because it seemed like Norman Lott was feasting.

How did the secondary do? Etc.

I haven’t been able to read any post game articles or listen to any pods or anything. We’re doing the family thing all day today but I’d love to hear what you all think of yesterdays performance.

Secondary wasn't really tested. D-Line and linebackers didn't give them time to throw.

Baron and Pearce had 2 sacks a piece. Pearce comes in on 3rd and long with Cheetah package and it's deadly. He's a stud.

Elijah Herring is a beast at linebacker. Beasley looked awesome and made big plays, had several PBUs. Pilli's name wasn't called a lot but he was always around the ball and quitely finished 2nd in tackles at 4. We had a ton of TFL. Omar Norman-Lott, West, Eason, Thomas all flashed.

Apart from ONL, Pilli and GJL played a lot on defense. Castles played a lot on offense, basically in Fant's role. Donte Thornton was quiet. They manufactured some touches for him, but I never saw any plays designed to get him downfield. Campbell is as advertised, obviously the replay of him taking that poor linebacker to the locker room is legendary. He did get beat once or twice and had a hold.

Early hiccups with WRs and Milton. Some innacuracies there and drops. They cleaned it up. Bru, Squirrel, Keyton had great catches. Warren got the TD over the middle. Joe showed good running ability.

OL - Campbell played well. Didn't notice any issues from Karic or Spraggins. Mincey replaced Crawford at right had some great blocks on runs. Davis replaced Lane and our running game picked up. Drove down the field and scored on that drive but Lane later came back on.

Runningbacks - Wright was a patient runner. Ran well between the tackles. Small ran well but not as well as Sampson or Wright. Sampson came in in the red zone and got his 4TDs. He's special. Wearing number 6 too...

Dee Williams is dangerous. I think he averaged 35yds per return.

Nico looked good and led a FG drive. Kaleb Webb looked good. A UVA player tackled Seldon and hurt himself in the process. Keith had a good run. Arion Carter made good plays in the second half. Freshman punter had a shank but can kick with both legs. Freshman kickoff specialist has a booming leg but also put 1 or 2 out of bounds. That's about what I got.

The floor was win one game this year and it would be called a success. They’re going to get blown out at least a few games this year. Waiting to see what his response will be then? Every moment around one's kid(s) is a teaching moment. Just a question of what you teach them.

If the kid is old enough to comprehend, in a situation like that: "I'm sorry you had to hear that. That's not the kind of people we want to be sweety."


As far as dealing with the teenagers, I've found that the best reponse is a calm, "Guys. My kid's here. Y'all have fun but be safe."
