Virginia was selling out to stop the intermediate-deep passing game...so we dinked and dunked, and ran the ball down their throat. If they were keeping a lot of guys close to los, then you would have seen Bazooka Joe unleashed more.

I thought what was going on was fairly obvious as they were dropping back on almost every play...but I guess not.
Think we played relatively vanilla also
Next week will be much the same
Damn proud of the check downs he hit
Gonna see the some big plays drawn up in a couple weeks
I think we go for the jugular quick against Florida if possible
Get them down two or three scores fast and that game is over

Is it? Hoo comes from Wahoo. Chief Wahoo was cancelled a decade ago

Their nickname does not derive from Chief Wahoo. In the late 1800’s, they had some sort of song that stated “wa-hoo-wa,” and Washington and Lee players started calling them wahoos at a game.

There is a minor league baseball team that are the Blue Wahoos, which is a fish.

Double post. He wrote a song about the time that John Wayne died. It’s appropriate for Jimmy Buffett’s passing as well. My son had just asked me as we were moving him into his college apartment if we could go to a Buffett concert. I promised that we would. Not my family will take a pilgrimage to Key West to celebrate his favorite place instead.

"Incommunicado" by Jimmy Buffett

Travis McGee's still in Cedar Key
That's what John McDonald said
My rendezvous so long overdue
With all of the things I've sung and read
They still apply to me, they all make sense in time

But now I'm incommunicado
Driving by myself down the road with a hole in it
Songs with no vibrato
Takin' the long way home

Now on the day that John Wayne died
I found myself on the continental divide
Tell me where do we go from here?
Think I'll ride into Leadville and have a few beers
Think of "Red River", "Liberty Valence" can't believe
the old man's gone

But now he's incommunicado
Leaving such a hole in a world that believed
That a life with such bravado
Was taking the right way home

So when I finished the last line
I put the book by itself on the shelf
With my heart in it
Never wasting time takin' the right way home
I know you're never wastin' time
Findin' the right way home

Still I am incommunicado
Livin' next door to a leg with a pin in it
Never wastin' time, takin' the right way home

[Repeat]
Great song Doc off a great album. He will definitely be missed. Lots of memories from my youth.

It’s probably more complicated than that…. A lot of fake signals and have to figure out which one is the live signal…. We also have a lot of plays that change at the line based on how the defense lines up.
I know that...but there are a lot of math-brained people that excel at decoding cypher...which is exactly what it is. You record all the data and analyze it to recognize patterns.

Hopefully we have a strategy for changing it up from week to week...sure we do.

I look forward to Colorado being humbled

Yea they are a little too excited right now.. TCU lost most of last year's team and won't even be in the top 25 this year. That win will look much less impressive at the end of the year. Prime is acting like they just beat a loaded top 10 team. They will be humbled soon!

I mean if it came to that I think anyone's signals would be relatively easy for someone determined to break. It's just that usually it doesn't matter even if they do know the plays because getting that to your defense pre-snap (faster than the defense can read an O on its own) is difficult. IOW, by the time you tell a guy like Pruitt what the play is he's already figured it out because he studied the film and has seen how you're lining up him if he's waiting on a 3rd person to tell him the offenses play before he can signal his defense the offensive play has already been run. It would work much better in the old days when people were huddling for 30 seconds before coming to the line (so the defense knows what the offense is gonna run before they line up) but no one does that any more but even then most of the success a defense has is going to come pre-game study and talent.

Heupels offense is designed to take advantage of what the defense is doing.

Ok...not gonna argue about it. I still think he is better that Beamer.
Ummmm…. yeah
Beamer wished he could have teams like Bobby p had when he was coaching hard

Bobby p’s would beat Beamers best with any team he had in the past
The only thing Bobby didn’t have was dominant o-lines every year
But he coached some damn good teams

Just read a story last week about how pervasive stealing signals is now in CFB, and how many programs put a lot of effort into doing it, and thus why we have the 3 amigos over there carrying on every play to disguise the true call...I didn't make that up out of thin air.

He is a good play caller. We have one too...I like SC having Sling Blade and Dowell Rogaine calling their plays.
