Did they change any clock rules other than run it on first down? They only stopped it for 5 or so seconds to set the chains anyway, how would that account for 40 fewer snaps?

If a player is pushed out of bounds instead of going out on his own, the clock runs too.

And yet...they do it and put a lot of effort into it...pretty sure they would not if there was limited benefit. I am pretty sure coaches know more about what is important than me or you either one.

Your argument is that YOU don't think it is worthwhile, but the people whose lives depend on those inches here and there for the winning edge definitely think it is....I think I will go with their judgment on this.

If you watch this game, Virginia focused on stopping the pass with 2 high safeties most of the game. They thought their DL could win 1 on 1 matchups and stop the run. That’s why we ran it 52 times. We didn’t take a lot of deep shots because they gave us a light box against the run.

Dear lord...I have pointed this out all freaking day...what you are talking about has zero to do with what I said about Joe.

At some point a team will force us to win a game on his arm. I want to see him go off and have a superstar 30-35, 400 and 4 type of game at some point.

I don’t think we had any good offensive games last season where we struggled to run the ball…. It’s the key to our offense.

I know that...but there are a lot of math-brained people that excel at decoding cypher...which is exactly what it is. You record all the data and analyze it to recognize patterns.

Hopefully we have a strategy for changing it up from week to week...sure we do.

Non-issue imo….. I don’t think anyone can dissect our signals…. Wait till we signal…. Relay it to the defense with as fast as we run our offense….. that’s not even taking into consideration that we have multiple options based on defensive alignment.

They've always had that rule. If they rule forward progress and the player goes out of bounds, the clock runs.
