Game kicked off at 7:45pm and ended at 11:08pm. So the game was 3 hours and 23 minutes.
Game presentation time: Right about 2 hours, 27 minutes.
Ad time: 131 ads for 55 minutes and 48 seconds.
Disclaimers: Clocks started at the moment of kickoff.
Once the traditional commericials end, I stopped the ad clock. So all of the bumpers where the show comes back from break saying "Tonight's game is brought to you by..." was counted as game presentation. So really, the ads were more than what I tallied.
Also, things like "The Camping World Game Track" or the "Aflac Trivia Question" wasn't counted as ad time, because it took place after the show returned from break. So again, the ads were much higher.
This was done with me having two phones both with the clock aps open. It wasn't exact, but within a few seconds.
Ads shown on the scorebug or on the sidelines weren't counted either. This was done to showcase the stoppages in the game.
Conclusions: Pretty awful. There's an entire hour of just nothing happening. It's why I don't think I'm going to attend any games in person this year. It's getting beyond ridiculous. This would've easily topped an hour had FSU not pulled away and teams were driving, using their timeouts.
All I can say is the game took 3 and a half hours. And tv windows for college football as long as I can remember have always been 3 hours and 30 minutes. So that new rule where the clock keeps moving is shortening the on-field product but it isn't shortening the tv windows. So ads are the only thing that can keep it that long.
None of that matters anymore, Huep kicked their arse last year and brings a more talented team than that to town this year. Florida o-line is sh*t and our d-line is deep. They have a statue at QB and isn’t very deep on defense. Good luck Billy, but it’s likely gonna be a looong night for the Turds. Either way I’m here for it
We throw based on how the defense lines up. It’s a numbers game. If they play 2 deep safeties all game, then we will indeed throw short passes. We will occasionally get a deep one like the one Keyton dropped. But we will keep a defense honest the way we teach the QB how to read the defense.Heupel is the key offensive staff. It’s his playbook, and he can take over play calling if he wanted to.
That said, I do find it concerning that we didn’t really try the long ball, or even more concerning if it just wasn’t there. That play has to work for this offense to work. Short dump off passes won’t keep a defense honest, and we play the 3 best defenses in the conference this year.
He told the truth.Holy smokes check out the tweets in this article
Brian Kelly Ripped To Shreds Over His Comments About LSU's Embarrassing Loss To FSU
LSU head coach Brian Kelly's postgame comments after his team got embarrassed during their season-opening game aren't sitting well with some fans. Beforebrobible.com
I think the worries are legit. The big drop by Keyton really sucked because it was Milton’s first deep ball and it was on the money. Milton missed a couple throws that stalled us but overall was much better than his previous starts. Again that deep ball should have been caught. I hope we just had such an easy time with Virginia Huepel didn’t need to doConcerns, maybe unfounded, about our offense.
Last year our offense was built on multiple plays from the same offensive looks creating conflict within the opponents defense. We thrived on picking apart defenses.... Save two games..... Which we lost.
Saturday I didn't see a lot of conflict being created.... We had our way with an inferior opponent..... And that's ok. Just wondering how worried should we be with the departure of key offensive staff?
