I'd be fine with more commercials if it weren't at the expense of fewer football plays. But great post, we're the ones losing in all these scenarios. Cable subscriptions skyrocketing while commercials are increasing and actual content decreasing?Man this isn’t it. I don’t understand how you can just accept placing every bit of the burden on fans. We pay tv subscriptions, we have to watch extended commercials, plus pay for NIL, because for some reason these massive tv contracts don’t pay the players. The fan is being pulled in every direction in this scenario. I don’t think you should just convince yourself that it’s ok. It’s not ok.
• Josh Heupel started his Tennessee tenure 7-6. He's 12-2 since.
• Tennessee has scored 31+ points in 16 of their last 17 games.
• And 38+ points in 14 of their last 17 games.
• 11 of Tennessee's last 14 wins have been by at least 17 points.
• If Tennessee makes a NY6 bowl this year, it'll be their first back to back trips since 1997-1999.
• In the last two games, Joe Milton has accounted for 490 yards and 7 touchdowns. Those numbers would certainly be higher if both games weren't out of hand at the end.
• Tennessee has won four straight season openers. They had lost their previous two before this streak.
• Joe Milton hasn't thrown an interception since November 14, 2020.
• Tennessee finished #6 in last year's AP Poll. It was their first top 10 finish since 2001.
• Tennessee's three-headed monster at RB had 38 carries, 234 yards, 6.16 ypc, and 3 TD.
• Josh Heupel won 18 games in 2021-2022. The last time Tennessee won more in a two-year stretch was 2006-2007 (19)
• Joe Milton in Josh Heupel's offense: 66%, 10.46 ypa, 14 TD, 188.33 rating. For reference, Bryce Young's rating the year he won the Heisman was 167.5.
• Tony Elliott is 1-8 vs. Power 5 teams.
• In Tony Elliott's final year as Clemson's offensive coordinator, they had the 82nd ranked scoring offense in the country.
• Virginia hasn't scored >28 points vs. a Power 5 team since November 20th, 2021.
• The Cavaliers' starting quarterback threw for 94 yards today.
• Virginia was held to 202 total yards.
• Two different Tennessee players had more sacks than Virginia had touchdowns.
The punkificationalization of No. 14, man that's bad
I didn’t claim it is ok. I stated that it is this way because of the need to pay these massive tv contracts. Do you believe that the networks are going to just take it from their bottom line as it currently is? Nope.Man this isn’t it. I would generally agree in terms of watching the games on TV. However, it absolutely kills the in-stadium experience.I'd be fine with more commercials if it weren't at the expense of fewer football plays.
Charge your taters.1:21:16 in Freak's full game video... On their 15 yard line, two safeties back and the corners playing 8 yards off the LOS. They are defending the goal line with the entire secondary. This is an obvious running down. But Milton still fires it complete to the two yard line with a perfect rope that NFL scouts will drool over.
Yet the concern trolls want our attention.

@InVOLuntary ?@InVOLuntary is going to be very busy retrofitting Vol boats with weapons. It's going to be a great look.
I’m not sure I’d ever be fine with the amount of commercials. I was struggling with them last year. This year is brutal and I can’t watch a game without feeling pretty disgusted about what has happened. A few people have gotten filthy rich while basically ruining the product for the masses and wasting our lives with endless commercials. I can refuse to watch, but it won’t do anything. I guess this has been coming for decades, as they slowly stripped away tradition and regionality for money, but this feels like a huge shocking step. The sport relies on the fans, but we are basically the only ones who don’t get a say in how the sport is changing. I obviously think it’s an unacceptable change, but I wonder if enough other people actually care enough to make an impact.I'd be fine with more commercials if it weren't at the expense of fewer football plays. They could charge more for the commercials. That would solve it.I didn’t claim it is ok. I stated that it is this way because of the need to pay these massive tv contracts. Do you believe that the networks are going to just take it from their bottom line as it currently is? Nope.
uh, yeah. That will get us beat.

If the commercials aren't worth more, they are paying too much, with no one to blame but themselves. They shouldn't be able to recoup their error at the expense of the defenseless viewer.
