One thing that Barnes has done that KY hasn't is try to get and keep players whereas KY did the one and done thing and are suffering for it now in many ways. If your not a good floor coach get stars that make you look good knowing they are only going to be there a year or two and then go to the NBA.

He can’t get his guys to play together anymore, which used to be a strength for him. That happens when there’s so much roster turnover every year. He needs several 3-4 year guys for continuity and leadership. He runs an outdated halfcourt offense as well.

I hope we are about to see football get on the same level as basketball and baseball. I don’t need us to win titles every single year (although that would be fun). I just want us to be consistent. Top 15 team, NFL talent. In the hunt most years. Slip in a title or two. Let’s do it, Heupel. Give us 10 years of that and let’s see how we like it. For the first time in ages, I think it’s legitimately possible.
