Tannehill has an almost 19,000,000 dollar dead cap hit next year…. I wouldn’t get Carr unless you felt he was a Super Bowl winning qb…. Might have to ride out one more year of Tannehill before cutting him…. I would focus on building all the other positions and then draft your qb the next few years.

Rumors are Tannehill to be traded, that's the only way I see them moving on from him.

Truthfully "super bowl winning QB" means nothing. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won SBs yet Dan Marino never did. Vrabel can coach the hell out of his team and despite all their obstacles with injuries and a poor GM he's proven that his teams will play good to great defense and if he can land a good OC again they'll be competitive and whoever is playing QB for them will be a potential SB winning QB. At least why Vrabel is the HC you likely won't see a true franchise level QB playing for the Titans (like a Brady, Manning, or Mahomes type). Rodgers would be the closest possibility and I still think that's a long shot.

But if you look at Tannehill with Miami and Tannehill with the Titans it's a huge difference, and that's the beauty of having an elite RB and great defense to take pressure off you. So I think Carr would also play better here than he has for the Raiders and he's a realistic option to land in free agency that wouldn't break the bank.

I hate the idea of the Titans even trying to be competitive next year. Tank, tank, tank. Downing sucks but he wasn't the only reason for the team's 7 game losing streak and losing 8 out of their last 10. It was because the early season wins were fool's gold and were over bad teams. We didn't beat anyone with a winning record. The Titans are a BAD team.

Keeping Tannehill does nothing but further waste his value and tack on 3-4 meaningless wins that only serve to worsen draft position. Same with Henry for that matter.

Problem is, gutting everything like that would probably be pretty terrible for locker room morale and guys would be ready to bail on Nashville. But that's the price you pay for a total rebuild.

Well obviously. I wasn't suggesting he give up football then magically be a godsend on the diamond. I was saying "had he been a baseball player, I think . . ."

I was mostly explaining why the HS coach said "stick to football"

A Junior or Senior in HS who is an elite football prospect showing up with no previous baseball experience is a bit too late to develop at that point to be helpful for that coach at least.

Several years ago, I stopped caffeine for about a year and only had a slight headache the 1st 2 to 3 weeks but I never craved it. I stopped dipping 10 years ago and I still think about it everyday. I catch myself checking out Red Seal and Skoal prices when I'm at the store. If I smell someone dipping wintergreen, it really ramps up my urge to buy a can.... it literally makes my mouth water. It's really a hard habit/drug to quit.
Same for me (skoal) but 26 years.

All things equal…scratch that. Situations have never been equal. A loaded team with full coaching and ownership support? Tannehill has had the benefit of such. Mayfield played badly in that mess in Carolina, got released and a totally imploded Rams outfit signs and starts him in a matter of days…and they win. Not touting him as some savior, but look at valid comparisons. Good news for you, I doubt they go that route, so your boy gets thrown out there to wring out the last ounces of his inflated contract. In a league where Nate Peterman can spot start games, Mayfield can find a backup gig and hope to replicate the Geno Smith story.
The Browns were pretty damn loaded on offense when Baker was there lol

Overall I'd be more than happy to see a more Seahawks approach where the cap space is used to improve the OL and D and you try to make it work with a cheaper QB or a rookie deal. I even think Dobbs could be as serviceable as Tannehill has been, not like he's been a world beater here.

But if you can land Carr he is younger than Tannehill and an upgrade as well. Carr has more yards, higher completion %, more TDs and less INTs than Ryan and has done so playing in 3 less games. And he did that on worse teams than Ryan has played on.
Thinking Dobbs can be as serviceable as Tannehill is pure orange tinted glasses. Please don’t be that naive

Feel bad for Dobbs. He wasn't put in a great spot to succeed, but he almost made the best of it. So close.

Watching his two games for the Titans I was actually pretty impressed with how much better his throws looked. You can tell he's worked on his game since leaving Knoxville. I'm hoping they keep him, he's a better backup than Willis and could mentor the young man if you think Malik has real potential to be the QB of the future.

Sources: Broncos currently plan to draft Darnell Wright with their 1st rd pick and trade up into the 2nd round to get Hendon Hooker if he falls late into the 2nd.

My source knows a guy in the Broncos org. Idk how. Seems like a lot could happen and I think Wright will go before they get to the Broncos pick (Broncos have 49ers pick).
Would be great if the Titans could do a trade and somehow get Darnell Wright because they desperately need him..more like several good OL.

Tannehill is the qb in 23. Probably will do a restructure and might even be the qb in 24. Im fine with both

Woof. I guess the league record of players played because of injuries doesn’t factor in to why they played bad this year. You can’t list all that stuff without listing the problem with injuries. Downing is the biggest problem then the OL is second. Titans are only team in league that didn’t score 28 in a game this year. Come on now🤦🏻‍♂️

I think he’s your man if the goal is legitimate losing. Gotta pay him anyway.

Willis? Keep him. Fine, but bring in somebody that you can at least compete with. Nobody wants to go 0-17…..you wanna “tank.”
I'm not a Titans fan. I'm totally fine with them tanking. I'm just saying that the quickest way to get a true franchise QB is to tank.

40 of 68 for 411 yards 2 TDs 2 INTs behind an OL missing 3 starters and doing so with less than 2 full weeks of practice with the team or offense you're playing for was far better than expected.

Cowboys are 6th rated in team defense and the Jaguars are 12th rated. So it wasn't like he was playing against the Bears or anything.

Nothing naive about it, Tannehill isn't a high bar here either...he went 6-6 and outside of the Green Bay game his best games were in September/October when the team was still healthy.

I just wish they had picked Dobbs up earlier. Might have pulled out a win or 2 that Willis/hurt Tannehill lost. (Chargers or Texans game specifically)

I mean 12th is pretty solid...I'd have us top 15. I however don't agree with having Clemson (who will start a QB next season with 2 games of experience) that we handled in the Orange Bowl ahead of us. I also don't think LSU who lost 2 more games and got waxed head to head against us should be that high.

TCU being 15th is also a bit of a slap in the face for them too. Also why the love for FSU, didn't even play in their conference title game and had 3 losses. Squeaked by a 500 OU to finish with their 10th win, suddenly going to be the 6th best team in the country though?
I agree..Clemson being ranked ahead of us is just silly..makes zero sense.🙄

I agree with your last paragraph and I’m glad they got Dobbs and played him over Malik. But as you know, the more you play, the more film teams get on you and the harder it gets
