Recruiting Forum Football Talk VI

This seems like a communication issue. When the wife and I started getting serious and knew we wanted to get married and someday start a family, we took a Pre-Cana course at church. You basically are separated and write answers to difficult questions. One question was related to personal time and expectations. I told my wife up front that I am fanatical about Tennessee Football, Chicago Bear Football and if the Lightning or Rays make the playoffs. I told her while it seems stupid, those things are critically important to me. She said she could accept that and we're still married 22 years later.

I've been amazed at our depth. I feel like in the early years of Barnes if your starting five wasn't on the court then you were up the creek.

As for Uros? Is he world class no but he's developed into a significant piece of the team. His offense is light years from when he showed up.
Almost as important as having the great shooters, playmakers, specialists, and defensive stalwarts, are the guys that are excellent teammates and gobble fouls and tough minutes. Uros seems to be a favorite amongst his peers.

Saw Aidoo sink a three like it was natural a couple games ago. Last year he wouldn’t even have thought about looking at the basket. Dude is gonna be a beast next year.

Gotta give Barnes tons of credit for his development. Seems like he has every guy work on 1-2 things in the offseason, and they come back and put it to use on the court.

That, and it seems like everyone puts in the work to get in shape. The difference in Vescovi from year 1 to now is unbelievable.

Do we care about Rattler coming back?
I care. I want revenge against Rattler and the Cocks. I want our defense to physically punish him, something like 5 sacks, 15 knockdowns and 25 pressures. I wouldn't mind knocking him out of the game, nothing serious, maybe just a mild concussion

I want to beat them by 60 & Rattler be in the whole game.

KA would shoot one or two a game as well. Just having the threat of a big that will take that shot is big for opening up the floor.

Hidden upside: Just think of all the money USCjr will save in 2023 by not spending one dime of their "being an asshat with aerial advertising banners" budget
Why does everyone think USCjr sent the plane with the banner? Have I missed them saying they did? Dabo received burgers from the Vols but none of them came from UT.

BTW, USCjr has surpassed my hate for UK. They are now the new little team we better whip every year. They aren’t a rival but yap just enough to piss you off.

The similarities between John Calipari and Jimbo Fischer are crazy when you analyze their recruiting, success, and failures. They both only have 1 championship and other near misses. For the most part, they underperform despite almost always having a huge talent advantage. They also leave places messier than where they found them.

Anthony Davis - Jameis Winston = Only time they won it all

Florida mishandling NIL and their best player in the class is AMAZING, loving every minute. Even more so that it's on social media for all other recruits to see.

Really hope '24 recruits are paying attention, if they'll do that to the #1 rated QB in their class they will without a doubt do it to anyone.

Since I'm not sure what your definition of "sig minutes" is I'll just assume the question is how many other SEC programs would play him 14.3 mpg or more (which is what he's at now) and the answer is every single one of them. His production and per game totals are low because his minutes are low that's why the "per 40" is an important stat.

Uros' per 40 he'd be good for 15.5 ppg, 12.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 2.1 spg, and a block a game.

for comparison Liam Robbins of Vandy would have 23.7 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 2.4 apg, 0.7 spg, and 5.3 bpg with his per 40 stats.
very helpful. this is thr kind of discussion wanted to have. wanted to understand.

For lol’s alone I would’ve loved for him to leave, based on how much they already have to replace. But Rattler himself doesn’t strike fear in me. That game last year was just an unexplainable anomaly.
We seem to have a history of "anomalies". QB like Rattler having a day, WR playing QB lighting us up, and even a backup QBs getting a coming out party. Getting a bit of a Bermuda triangle vibe sometimes.

It's too bad that the wife of "DickieVIII" was not so understanding. John Calipari is a true saint for doing his part in saving marriages by causing lifelong Kentucky basketball fans to give up their passion for basketball and spend more time with their families.
