Recruiting Forum Football Talk VI

We should start a thread where it's okay to talk about these kinds of things without people attacking and saying, "You need to calm down!". It seems to me, they're the ones panicking because we are talking about it.

You need to be the one to start it tho. We saw what happened last time I started a thread.
It's fine to express a concern. Just like it's fine for some of us to say we are not concerned.

Well there were a coupe of times they weren't behind but that doesn't change the fact that teams knew that they could pass on us. I want mention the one game. lol
Lol. If you spend the whole off-season thinking about that one game, you are going to be so happy. Not as happy as me though. I am going to be thinking about beating AL and LSU with a bunch of misfits nobody wanted and dreaming about the recruits coming in. Man, it feels like the 80s going into the 90s. Enjoying this

One could argue that this will be our best class ever in the 21st century. Butch’s 2015 class could be considered (30+ commits however) and Kiffins 2009 class would be up there too. This class has a higher numerical rank avg than both of those years
Kiffin's 2009 class was highly rated but did not ever come close to even develop into a solid class. Udder fools gold, IMO.

Ok now I am spending the whole season thinking about one game cause I mentioned it? I mention our most glaring weakness on the the defensive side an all the sudden I'm not enjoying the our successful season? LOL Its like if anyone says anything about our secondary we are horrible people. Its ok to talk about where we need help. Its ok to talk about what could make us better.

Steven Covey had a bit of advice. Start every day with the last in mind. The principle behind it centers around you floating above your own funeral. Who is there? Who did you touch enough for them to make the trip and take time out of their day to laugh, cry, and reflect on your life? Are there many people? Or are there few?

I think we can all see Mike Leach's true greatness in this world. Not just about the wins. Not just about the innovation. Fans of teams all over the Big 12, Pac 12, and SEC are mourning as though they lost their own coach, a loved one. Mike Leach was one of a kind. He was a real McCoy. He will be missed. It's really not strange how his passing has conjured up so many memories from many of us about our loved ones that passed. That was what Mike did. He took time to make deep connections. Those connections formed a highway that bridged across the TV and Social Media and across the nation.

Why do posters who express unpopular opinions expect that no one will challenge them on it and act like they're being persecuted when people do challenge them?
And I don't get what they are trying to accomplish. Beating their own chests and making sure everyone sees their "expertise" I guess. Coach Leach, along with Hal Mumme, Rich Rod and a few others moved Offensive football out into space and forced Defenses to change how they schemed and even what certain positions look like. That's the definition of a Hall of Famer in my book.

I think it's the method of challenging more than the challenging itself.

We ALL know what the weakness is on our team Everyone has said what they think is the solution. Why can’t we talk about the strengths on the team? The 10-2 season? The class we’re about to sign with a 5*QB and DL among other really good solid players? We’re signing the #2 player in the nation!!! We beat AL, FL and LSU in the same season!….nope, it’s the secondary on repeat. And there’s nothing we can do but watch to see what happens.

I’m just saying, if he was HOF worthy, you’d think he would’ve been coaching somewhere other than Mississippi state. UT and several other big time schools didn’t want him on multiple occasions. I’m very thankful for his personality being in the game for so long though.
Yeah, because every other coach on the HOF coached at one of the blue bloods.

I'm sorry I sad the S word.

He's a good coach, he just came with baggage. He was an eccentric personality. And he allegedly locked Craig James' son in a shed. But he also changed the game with the Air Raid offense. It's not as simple as you're trying to make it IMO.
In his defense, Craig James is a tool. Tool. Shed. Get it?
