Guys and gals, gotta take a minute and just tell all of you, I’m so glad to be on this journey with all of you guys. I know we all have different lives and go through different daily struggles but this team, the ORANGE of the VOLS, College football Saturdays, mean so much to so many of us. It’s helped many of us get through tough times and will continue to help so many of us and future generations.
With the passing of Coach Leach it’s been a very somber day for me. I sat in my office today for about two hours and just reflected and thought about life in general, and in doing so it brought tears to my eyes.
Many of us are blessed to still have parents living and other relatives still around and some of us don’t. And as the Christmas season approaches, please just take the time to mend broken relationships and hug and hold the ones you love tightly, cause you never know when it’s your time.
I wanted to say thank you to all you, My VOL family for always supporting us. We truly appreciate every single one of y’all.
You can’t justify your argument by who this board wants as coach. You’ve been here long enough to have seen some of our choices. Remember Gruden? Twice?I think everybody turned Leach into Saban this week
So now he needs 4 years? My feelings as well. Our rush defense was magical this year. Overall, a solid defense. Let's see Y3...maybe Y4...then make your decisions all you want in the offseason. Need to stop making snap-neck decisions.
Trust in Hype...and this isn't "well we went 7-6...TruSt CoaCh DoOfUs". This is "we went 10-2 and have a B2B CoTY"![]()
Because people are reminiscing on his life? People have always loved his sound bites, and his contributions with the Air Raid have been talked about for years. Nobody's acting like he's the best of all time, but he was a character, and thats what he was loved for.I think everybody turned Leach into Saban this week
I’m just saying, if he was HOF worthy, you’d think he would’ve been coaching somewhere other than Mississippi state. UT and several other big time schools didn’t want him on multiple occasions. I’m very thankful for his personality being in the game for so long though. You can’t justify your argument by who this board wants as coach. As for me, I wanted CML. Loved him. Watched his games and interviews while Tennessee was wandering in the wilderness. But that has nothing to do with anything.
Nooo… all I said was I didn’t think he’s a hall of fame football coach when somebody brought it up.. that’s what started this whole thing and it’s all I’m talking about. Not discounting him as a fun, big personality guy that people likedBecause people are reminiscing on his life? Right… all I was saying is that I don’t think he did enough on the football field to be a college football hall of fame coach, like someone else said.Exactly. Leach was infinitely more likeable than saban so people are harder hit by leach's passing.
Doesn't change the fact that leach was a good, innovative coach.
I think you have to look at where he coached. To do what he did at Texas tech was remarkable, and he led Washington state to their best years in forever. And we all know how hard it is to win at state. I just think he belongs in the hall, but I see your point.Right… all I was saying is that I don’t think he did enough on the football field to be a college football hall of fame coach, like someone else said.
Now I get where you’re traveling. He died this week and we’re all looking into what he contributed to CFB world as a whole more. I’ll admit, I learned more about him in the last two days. Yes, I’ve watched his career as a coach since TTC, but I didn’t really study it. I wished I had before besides just the pirate, fat little girlfriends stuff, etc. stuff. If you look into his coaching career, you see where his handprint on today’s football is. That’s where we divide.I didn’t see all this talk before this week is what I’m saying.
