Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Cordarelle Patterson was at the game tonight. The brotha looked rich and happy. Always good to see a former Vol be successful in life and doing his thing honestly. He needs to pull his damn pants up though. Oh well.

Curious to see this one play out. Is he a take by himself? He may be. Could the staff be trying to get his buddies to follow? If Edoga and Griffin go elsewhere, is TJ's offer then not so committable?

Serious question- are u bruins alter? Ur posts are exactly the same as his.. Always playing devils advocate and being a Debby downer.

It really is garbage. It's weak trolling, although the Arkansas fans make it funny.

I also have to admit that I enjoyed seeing other SEC fans reactions to our class last year. It went from "this class is a fluke and will apart" during the summer to "doesn't matter, UT is garbage now" after NSD.

There are way too many idiotic SEC fans who think the current pecking order from 2008-present is set in stone and that no teams will ever move up or down.

I don't know if it was that site, but I saw a rival fan (I think it was lsu) say something about a recruit getting a bump in the rankings "because he committed to Tennessee". It was actually nice to read that, since the only time we ever say that here is if it is about bama. And we all know the kind of success they have has recently (regretfully).

Butch understands that recruiting is the key to building a championship caliber program

I find it sad we didn't accomplish anything while he was here.

Agreed! Zo has really under-utilized him. He should be touching the ball in the low post at least one time every offensive set. He showed some of his moves when he gets that opportunity and puts the ball on the floor. I don't like him dribbling too much, but he is capable when he is getting to the rim. He is almost impossible to defend, especially one on one. If Zo would ride him the rest of the way and not depend on the outside shot so much, but let Stokes dish it when one of our shooters is open, then we could make a run and possibly get into the tourney. I just don't put my hopes in Zo doing it.

No, I am not Bruin. I am not "connected" to Bruin. As I mentioned before, there will always be posters on these boards looking for other posters to cry about. "He's a troll"! "Why can't you just pump the sunshine like I do"? There will always be posters who at times have a difference of opinion. It's just kind of how the real world works. If you can't handle it, maybe the real world is not for you. With all the Bruin talk by people on here looking for something to cry about, who knew the guy would be missed like this. :eek:lol:

Hey fellas, hopefully this will start your day off right. Today, I almost experienced the greatest tragedy of my life.

The family was getting ready to go out, (wife, 3 kids, myself) so I sent the kids out to the truck first, while we got the last stuff locked up, turned off, etc. A minute or two later, I hear the crash of metal. Immediately, I knew it was a vehicle hitting something. Running to the door, I see my truck had rolled about 15 feet down my sloping driveway into our large steel gate, which probably weighs over 1,000 pounds. The gate was visibly pretty dramatically bent from the momentum of the truck crashing into it.

Quickly scanning the yard, I see the three year old at the top of the hill, remember my oldest is inside, and right about the time I think, "Where is John-Michael" (aged 5), I hear him scream from behind the truck. Ladies and gentlemen...that moment, untold fear gripped my heart. What was I going to find behind that truck? My boy under a my back tire, broken legs, a crushed chest... my God!

I jumped off the porch, still wearing my socks with no shoes, and ran around the truck to see him pinned between the bumper and the crushed gate. I threw myself between the gate and truck and pressed with all I had. Stinking socks were giving me no traction, but I pushed that SOB and moved it a few inches back up the hill while forcing the gate off of my son. My wife had run out by that time and pulled him free as I held the truck back.

We really don't know what happened. The parking brake (stick shift) was still engaged. My son (who has had a steady diet of Iron Man, Captain American, Spider-man & Jesus) said he saw the truck rolling and jumped behind it to stop it.

I tell this story to give credit to God. I'm telling you, that child had not a single scratch. Not even a bruise. The gate, which was hit so hard it bent the steel angle iron, bars and broke welding will need to be repaired. How on earth he was pinned between the two and walked away... I give credit to God alone.

Needless to say, I was, and am emotionally exhausted from the experience. I'm going to get that truck's parking brake looked at and park it in 1st gear from now on.

Now, back to football.

Amen Nick. God praised that your son is alright. I would lose my mind if that happened to one of my girls. Everyone hug your kids a few extra times today and love them more than you think is possible.

I tell you all... there is nothing like that feeling, and the release of knowing that he is fine. There is just. no. way. that. happened.

I had to pull the gate out and back into it on purpose to bend it the other way, so I could actually get the truck out of the driveway, and that child is in perfect shape!

I cannot handle it. The real world is not for me. Goodbye cruel world.

I see both sides of things. I see some things are positive and good for UT & recruiting. I also see bad things and things that can be viewed as negative. The definition of a sunshine pumper is someone who ALWAYS claims things are a positive and in no way could ever be negative for/toward UT. Of course I don't really need to explain what a sunshine pumper is to you.

As I mentioned before, I get the feeling TJ is a take if his buddies follow him to UT. If Edoga and Griffin are not Vols, I doubt TJ is either. JMO
