Heard from a well connected buddy that OT could be an "all time bad" for the position. Doesn't sound good at all.

Discuss.

Butch said we would see a big improvement in QB play. If he thought we are going to be "all time bad" at tackle I wouldn't think he would have made that statement.

It would be important to know how long the "well connected buddy" has been watching or following Tennessee football. The term "all time bad" could be for only 1 or 2 seasons. The well connected buddy also might not know an OT from a WR.

I think the Oline will probably be somewhere around 11th-12th in the conference for sacks allowed.

It will be bad, but not the worst, and certainly not bad enough to be a glaring weakness that costs us multiple games.

Glad wuckman and I have the same source. :)

The rave reviews on Coleman this early are just gravy long-term. Blair is who we need asap.

2009 starting OL against Virginia Tech in the bowl game:

LT: Chris Scott (SR)
LG: Cory Sullins (SR)
C: Cody Sullins (SR)
RG: Jacques McClendon (JR)
RT: Aaron Douglas (FR)

2014 starting OL against Utah State in the opening game:

LT: Dontavius Blair (JR)
LG: Marcus Jackson (RJR)
C: Mack Crowder (RJR)
RG: Kyler Kerbyson (RJR)
RT: Coleman Thomas (FR)

I like this line already over what we had in '09. They have an entire fall camp and two opening games to gel before the real test starts. We will be ok.

If OL is a concern, Worley is going to have to make the quick reads and get rid of the ball fast. If he's improved like others have noted, I feel a little better about our chances.

The guy was speaking strictly from a tackle standpoint.

Watching Josh Malone's and Jalen Hurds highlight film has me pumped for the season. Hopefully they can live up to the hype

On that 09 line you've got 2 upperclassmen in Scott and McClendon who are both NFL players now and were significantly better than anyone we have right now (at least at this point in their careers). Douglas as a freshman was solid and was more highly touted out of high school than Coleman Thomas. The Sullins twins would be the weakness of that line, but I don't recall either of them being a liability during that season.

I do like our interior guys a lot, but they are pretty inexperienced so them struggling isn't far fetched. Our tackle situation is scary. We're looking at a walk-on who has played in 3 career games and a true freshman who has never played tackle as our starters. That's not good. Blair has the potential to upgrade Gilliam at LT, but to this point he's not taken that starting spot.

For me, offensive line, and specifically offensive tackle, is easily my biggest concern with our team next year.

They did get steam rolled by Cody a couple of times and gave up two blocked kicks that game. We could have ended the streak then. That was our last legit shot at bama.

anybody know of some good audio for a pump up video? music or speeches

I'm putting one together with soundtrack of Oblivion (movie) for pre-games in my cave. I'll DM u a link on twitter when it's done. I also found it hard to come up with music, even though most recruit vids end up having good stuff. Just couldn't find any of the stuff I thought I remembered hearing
