As a recruit, how could you watch that and not want to come here.

Amazing job by our video staff and Lawson for keeping it fresh.

I'm having a very difficult time tempering my expectations.

Anyone know the song in this video? I'm a runner. Wouldn't mind having this on my playlist to run to.... TIA

Throw some Cannibal Corpse in there.....that should get it going pretty good.

It's still painful to watch the end of that game.... an inch away from a bowl game...

Yeah that was a tough loss. Still a great game though. I loved how we played that second half. As POA said earlier, I absolutely loved the offensive play calling in the second half. I'm hoping we see much more of the playbook this season...

anybody know of some good audio for a pump up video? music or speeches

Chevelle and avenged sevenfold are pretty awesome choices as far as rock. if you like the techno type stuff from the workout vid they posted try cracks by flux pavillion. its pretty sick.

I'm expecting it to be rough personally. I was calling 35+ sacks allowed after spring practice. Might back off that number some now, but not much. A key injury or two and that position gets ugly quick. Gotta keep recruiting.

Still think our improved skill players will help us overcome some of the OL shortcomings by grabbing a few more big splash plays. I'm optimistic we win 6 or 7 games, despite the OL.

Agree, but will also say this...do you guys remember the last time we made a bowl? 2010...how many true FR were starting on that OL? We were extremely young then with Ja'wuan and Stone starting as true FR. I remember giving up a ton of sacks (that was when Simms started, and Tyler took over after the USCe game). We were 2-6, but won the last 4 games to make a bowl with none other than DD as our coach. I'm pretty sure that was the year we got drilled by Oregon at home, and I know that's the year of the LSU debacle on the road. So, we had a really tough schedule then, too. The current roster might be very young, but it is every bit as talented as that squad and is actually most likely more talented and athletic. We will have better RBs, better QB (at least compared to the 8 games Simms started), a wash at WR ( although the 2010 group had a lot more experience with DMo and Gerald Jones), TEs better on 2010 squad (we had Stocker then), and not sure who gets the edge for OL (probably edge due to experience to 2010 squad). Need this OL unit to not get all of our QBs killed (the offensive game plan and play calling can help this), and gel by the 2nd half of the season when wins become a little more realistic. Hopefully, we gel before then, and can pull another signature upset.

2009 starting OL against Virginia Tech in the bowl game:

LT: Chris Scott (SR)
LG: Cory Sullins (SR)
C: Cody Sullins (SR)
RG: Jacques McClendon (JR)
RT: Aaron Douglas (FR)

2014 starting OL against Utah State in the opening game:

LT: Dontavius Blair (JR)
LG: Marcus Jackson (RJR)
C: Mack Crowder (RJR)
RG: Kyler Kerbyson (RJR)
RT: Coleman Thomas (FR)

I like this line already over what we had in '09. They have an entire fall camp and two opening games to gel before the real test starts. We will be ok.

Hey TG...can you post a comparison of the 2010 OL to the 2014 like you did in this post? Thanks. I know it had Stone, Ja'wuan, Dallas Thomas, McClendon, and one more, but can't remember who.

According to UTSports, the starters for the Oregon game that year were:

LT: Thomas
LG: Schofield
C: Pope
RG: Shaw
RT: James

I think it was pretty fluid that year though.

Do you know their year of eligibility? I know JJ's and Thomas was a Jr. I thought Stone started at OG for some reason.

Keeping pace will be more important than strength this year, they are really going to press with up tempo more so than last year. They now have enough alternating pieces at the skill positions to make this happen.
