on the highlights who is the QB wearing 6. I watched 2 sets of highlights and didn't see one of his passes hit the ground I don't think.

Butch and his megaphone are like a comedian making fun of the audience. It's all hilarious until he singles you out, and then all you can do is slide down in your seat and take it.

Wegzyn. Not sure if that is how you spell it. He is a transfer from UMASS and i agree. he is impressing in these practice videos

Elder said Darr is punting better than he ever has since he has been here. There are three kickers battling for the job and all are being out in pressure situations daily.

Gillespie said he likes what he has in Scott and Paulk. He mentioned Paulk is still getting back to 100 percent from his injury, but is looking good athletically.

Both Gillespie and Bajakian like what they have in Scott and Paulk. Scott is someone Gillespie said he likes what he got done in the first day of pads.

Bajakian said the quarterbacks have to do better and have to be more consistent and more accurate. He said they have a good pace as they only added three new players that weren't here in The spring. More coming up soon.

When was the last year that you can recall there being a collective feeling of optimism, heading into Fall Camp?

Cautious optimism. Guarded optimism. Even conditional optimism but WARRANTED optimism nonetheless.

Kyler Kerbyson had a quote the other day sounded like old school UT...(paraphrasing):

"We WANT you to doubt us...we WANT you think we're no good."

It's a phrase that is repeated all the time but rarely founded on a sense of confidence that, simply puts, means "I'm going to knock you the **** out."

I'm sure I've heard UT players say that over the last few years, and they might have meant it about themselves or their positional unit, but I never got the sense they meant it as a team--how could they when they had no respect for the man who was our head coach at the time?

This quote tells me all I need to know:

Corey Larkins: "I just want to see some fight. I've seen our guys for the last few years not only get beat to the ground, but then the other players push up off their chest to go back to the huddle and our guys just got up and walked back to the huddle. I want to see some guys with some fight and defend the program. That mentality came from the guy we had before Coach Jones. Derek Dooley was a loser. He'll always be a loser and he rubbed off on the program and created a losing attitude."

One thing that I'm going to try to do this year is focus more on how hard our guys fight, regardless of how the game is going. I want to see leaders step up and refuse to let anybody accept mediocrity when things aren't going their way--even on the sidelines. There's going to be adversity this season, our schedule is one of the toughest in the nation and we have some significant obstacles to overcome, it's inevitable.

However...I'm about 98% sure that the culture has officially changed on the Hill. We're not a "expect to win" team, our talent level isn't quite there yet...BUT...if Kerbyson's quote had as much fight in it, as I think it did, we're most definitely a "smack you in the mouth and make you work your a** off for EVERY INCH" type team.

This season is going to be fun.

I've never done this before but, what the hell...

The swing games are: UGA, Florida, Ole Miss, USCjr, Mizzou, & Vandy (for revenge purposes). If we can split those, we're bowling...but I'm more than anxious to see if they have enough fight in them to get more than that.
