I'm not ready to waive the white flag on QB but, is it possible that 2015's starting QB isn't on the roster right now??

I am not saying we are screwed but based off of the first 3 days QB play has not provided a lot of chatter.

That is bad news when a QB battle is going on.

I think worley will be the man and hopefully he is serviceable.

I am tempering expectations as QB play to me still seems down. At least not SEC caliber.

If that position is working then none of the rest really matters.

Ya I'd not seeing where all the "look how much better Worley looks" stuff earlier was coming from. Practice film looked like same as last year to me.

They've had the pads on going at it for like half a day. Ultimate grain of salt with reports or lack of reports at this point.

We love the positives, hate the negatives of reports... but it's likely somewhere in the middle for every position/player.

Not sure how much you can take away from the film shown so far Jave. Besides, it is the knowledge and decision making that will be Worley's strength. His arm will look stronger because he will have more confidence in where and who he is throwing to his year.

That's what I'm afraid of.

If our QBs already on roster aren't good enough, having to rely on a true freshman QB is not good for the expected big jump forward we are expecting in 2015.

thank goodness there are at least 20 other positions on the field that will be better in 2015 than 2014.

Interesting that Peterman was working with the 2nd team ahead of Dobbs.

IF the staff plans to allow Worley the majority of the in game reps, being able to RS Dobbs would not be a bad idea IMO. IF Peterman looks to be capable of handling the 2nd team reps and Worley stays injury free, I say go for it. Save a year for Dobbs and has JJ and QD coming in thinking they have a better shot at taking the job in 2015.

Only reason I would have Dobbs at #2 is if they plan to use him in a lot of situations vs garbage reps to end games.

The first couple of days got people pumped, and I'm glad the qb's looked improved, but there is a huge difference between throwing with a helmet/shorts rather than full pads with players coming after you. I think Worley ends up being the guy too, but I will have to see the improvement before I get too hyped. I'm not being negative, but I don't want to be let down because I bought into a couple of fall camp reports.

Having said all of that, I hope I'm dead wrong, Worley wins the Heisman, and everyone gets to tell me how wrong I was.:)

I agree you can't take much away. I was just saying we've seen a tiny bit of film, and it didn't look any different from last year to me. Not saying there's been no improvement, I just don't see how people are excited about that film we saw.

Hard to believe... that Riley took his ball and went home, when he would have been right in the thick of this.

I think it's really just a matter of what our expectations are. I think Worley likely will be solid enough to get the 6-7 wins I think we can get. Now, that first day hype had me (briefly) thinking we might surprise and grab more. But now I'm just thinking 6 or 7.

I'm pretty confident in saying that because we were two over turned calls away from 7 wins last year, and we played a harder schedule then with a much worse roster.

One of the things I like in these practice reports is the comments about how our athleticism is helping players overcome mistakes. Martinez said that about some DBs today and all the beat writers talked about how the wideouts were still catching some of those poorly thrown balls. That's the difference to me this year versus last year.
