We actually don't know if Ole Miss and MSU will have their best team. Bo Wallace still sucks and Precott is overrated.

With how good Manziel was, he did some VERY stupid things too. He got bailed out by Evans more times than I can count.

They'll make a bowl game. They may take a step back, but they won't be an easy win like some people want to insinuate.

Oh gosh, they won't be an easy win. I'm just saying on paper they're taking a step back, while ole miss and MSU in paper are going forward.

As far as Wallace goes, I'd be scared of his shoulder if I were an Ole Miss fan.

Lmao I knew I would look on here and people would think he was serious about starting QB tweet.... You would think we would know our QBs by now

That was a joke tweet. He named a NASCAR driver who was visiting the starter.

Also, JDub and JDob could be confusing monikers.

I see that now. Well that is stupid. How is a racecar driver gonna be the starting QB?

This guy, Austin Dillon, was at the UT facilities today getting the tour, etc. as part of the build-up for the Battle at Bristol. One of the activities he participated in was a quarterback drill/challenge with coach Jake...hence CBJ making an "announcement" that this guy is the new starting QB.

Mizzou's "step back" will be much greater than TAMU's.

You think so? I disagree. Maybe a little greater. Losing three first rounders on one side of the ball and sucking on the other side just seems like a recipe for a disaster.

Mizzou is in trouble at WR, but none of their departures were just elite, irreplaceable players.

No way Dooley should be ranked that low. Zook was a much better coach than Dooley was. Dooley should be in a category by himself, something like... "worst coach of any sport, all-time, forever".

Ron Zook and Gene Chizik had success, it just wasn't consistent nor up to the standards their respective programs demanded. Zook might deserve to be in the top 10 but no way in hell does his name deserve to mentioned in the same breath as Brewster or our last HC.

Kiffin, IMO, was/is a very good X's and O's coach...had he stayed here, I don't think the roster would have sunk to the depths that it did, talent-wise, but the off-the-field issues would have been equaled only by the blunders of Precious' on-the-field issues. The 'AA was constantly looking at Kiffin but he was too arrogant or stupid to pander to their egos. Plus...he recruited some seedy characters. None of which would I have wanted to represent my University.

But how in the hell anyone cannot place Barbara's baby at the top of the list is beyond me...

I posted this in the Shy Tuttle thread by mistake. Anywho, sounds like the Power 5 split may be heading in that direction. What are everyone's thoughts?

Edit: WesTnVol beat me to it.

Bill Snyder said in the article that universities have sold out. As far I have been able to tell, universities sold out years ago. It has been all about the dollar for as long as I can remember.

I don't want to hear someone making millions of dollars talking about selling out.

Reminds me of a wrestling promo I've seen several guys cut when fans start chanting "You sold out..."

"You're damn right I sold out...EVERY SEAT, EVERY NIGHT."

In that case I have two questions:

1. How's his accuracy?
2. What kind of pocket presents does he bring to the table.
3. Does he have eligibility?
4. Why would Butch play with our emotions like that? He knows we are all in a very delicate emotional state right now. :cray:

I'm not sure about any of those things, but I heard he was the valid victorian of his class. :good!:

Someone should probably make a thread...

I agree with most of that. Even Brewster took his team to two bowls.

As for Kiffin, he seems to have a pretty vast resume as being a bad head coach hire. We'll see what he does as an OC (without Sarkisian).

I'm not sure how Dooley doesn't win this race.

I hope Kiffin fails miserably, now that he's at Bama. I was as mad as anyone when he left but, once he was at USC, he was out of sight, out of mind. Now that he's back in the SEC, and at our biggest rival, I want him to fall flat on his face.

I do wonder just how much control Kiffin had on the offense, in conjunction to Sark and Carroll, during his time as OC at USC. Whatever the case, outside of UGA last season, I think '09 versus UGA & Bama were the best-called, X's and O's, games we've seen in the last five years.

It was frustrating to watch and heartbreaking to see the outcome, but Kiffin rope-a-doped Saban all day long and just knocked Richt right out of the stadium.

Kony Ealy. DBG.

And TAMU is recruiting on a MUCH higher level, since Sumlin got there. They have the talent.
