I think the scrimmage on Saturday is going to give a better picture on where we are at with the QB's. So far I have seen the information we have gotten on live portions of practice, all seem to have come in situations designed for the QB to fail: two minute offense, 3rd and fourth downs, Red Zone offense. Those scenarios aren't conducive for 75% completion rates and multiple touchdowns. You also got to factor in that Peterman is going against the 3's, while Worley is going against the 1's. Do I wish the numbers were flipped? Of course I do, but if Worley was throwing touchdowns left and right against the D, we would be complaining about how horrible the D is. Maybe there is some hope there.
As for practice footage, I am glad to see the coaches challenging the QB's with harder throws. It seemed like last year all we saw from practice footage were comeback's and go routes. Now were seeing deep in routes, posts, etc. Do I wish the quarterbacks looked a lot better in the footage? Of course, but again its practice 6, and they have time to get better.
If you expected them to look like Bray or Crompton then you might have been expecting a little too much. If Worley can consistently play like he did against Georgia and South Carolina all of the year, I think we have a great shot at 7-8 wins. Wouldn't surprise me to see the scrimmage stats from Saturday showing Worley with about a 60% completion rate and a couple of touchdowns, and maybe a pick or two.
