I'm predicting we win vs:

Utah State
Ark State
Chattanooga
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Mizzou
Vandy

If this team can have just an average amount of losses to injury, I think we're going to be smoldering hot come November.

What makes you think we beat Ole Miss? Not disagreeing with you, just wondering what your thoughts are that lead you to that.

Da Bears. Love those SNL skits.

I love the continuity of the coaching staff as well. I think it was a huge win that we kept the whole coaching staff in tact through this past coaching carousel. But on the other hand I wish we had a QB coach like we did with Coach Cut. It is a pick your poison sorta deal. Both have positives and negatives.

Also, you think we should have lost to Vandy last year? On the coaching part, I agree. Definitely at least a solid job.

Cut was so amazing. I still don't understand how this fanbase doesn't see him as a more critical piece to our golden age.

I go back and forth on Vandy. I predicted we would win before the game but wasn't surprised when it was all over.

Since I'm on the "We are in major trouble at QB" train, I tried to make myself think positive for a brief minute.

Everyone but SC, Mizzou, and Auburn have question marks at QB too.

Although ours aren't so much questions as answers we don't like. Crap, back to negative.

Ole Miss could possibly be ranked with a 5-1 record going into that game. That would be a huge road win.

I suppose I'm just not sold on what they have yet. I also like us in the trap game scenario. I admittedly could be way off on this.

I expect them to be squarely in the middle of the SEC West, just like I expect us squarely in the middle of the East.

I haven't watched enough Ole Miss games to honestly have a good reading on how well we will do against them. But yes, I think it is a game we can win. I think it will be tough, though. They have some ballers down there.

We win -
Utah State
Arky State
Chatt
Vandy
Kentucky

More than likely win -
Mizzou (lost everybody).

Toss ups -
Florida
Ole Miss

Likely wont win, but still have a chance (IMO) -
Oklahoma
UGA
SCAR

Highly doubt we win -
Bama

Take the games that we win and we have 5 right there. Plus the games we more than likely win, thats 6. I think we also win at least 1 from the toss ups and likely wont win, but still have a chance categories.

I think Ole Miss has fire power, but they can be either on or off. From what I've seen they are a pretty up/down team to me. Honestly if I had to pick a game that is attainable that I want to win this year it is the Florida game. I think SCAR is out for blood against us this year for robbing them of the East Title last year so they will have us circled on their calendar. UGA, even though their entire start 22 is either off the team or in jail, I see them as a lot of potential on O but their D is gonna be weaker than what it should be.

Let's play this all back after the season to see where everybody was compared to what actually happened. Maybe those of us that believe better days start this season will be proven wrong by the realists and pessimists.

I have been on record for months at 7-5 with a bowl win for 8-5. My reasoning? The team was one play from beating UGA, one play from beating Vandy, a bad decision on which QB to play against UF, and some really dumb play calling/over thinking at the OC level on offense - from going to a bowl game last season. With very little talent on D. With the only strength on the team being an O-line that was recruited for a totally different style of offense. On a team whose best player turned out to be a kicker/punter that everybody hated on before the season.

This season there have been significant losses in players at Mizzou and Vandy - two of our losses. That leaves UF to beat for a change. Ole Miss and GA will not be as good as most are predicting IMO. There are only two certain losses and two major underdog situations that will be really hard to win: OK, AL, SC, GA. So 3 OOC wins plus UK, Vandy, Mizzou, and Florida. If it goes bad for injuries we lose one between Mizzou and UF. If it goes better than expected UGA and Ole Miss are on the radar to beat.

Butch's rantings at this pointed are good for team. Boot camp. By the time the season rolls along they will be ready for live ammunition. He is not going to let the world know the strengths of the team before the season starts. He is much smarter than that.

We probably should never lose to Vandy. However, Vandy beat UGA and UF and played OM tight. It wasn't a bad loss. I think that is what he meant.

Ever.

That one game could have saved our season. If we win that game, we make a bowl game. If we make a bowl game, it erases the Missouri, Auburn, Bama, and Oregon blowouts --- which were brutal. Instead, we laid an egg.

UT probably did as much as anybody or any team to get James Franklin his dream job at Penn State. Makes me sick.

The coaches must be better than that this year. They just have to be.

Agreed.

Bingo. I also think Oklahoma is very very very overrated because of the Bama win. They squeaked by WVU 16-7 in Norman. And squeaked by TCU 20-17 in Norman. Both of those teams were 4-8. They were destroyed by Texas and Baylor. And when they played 3-9 Kansas, they only beat them by 15. Am I saying we win? Probably not, but I do think we stand a chance.

Just heard from Tennessee that Saturday night’s #Vols scrimmage will be completely closed to media. Interviews after but nothing else.

Yeah, I'm not understanding the OU hype at all. It's like the whole ESPN/AP community sits there and waits to see if OU does one thing that gives a glimps of a possible good team. If they see one then they slap them with a "Best Team in the Country" award.

I like this. Keeps the kids minds focused on football and not having the media as a distraction.
